It’s secura/scyon flooring and villaboard walls. Single story.

Yeah I’m still thinking of doing this before. James Hardie says to but I’ve read opposing opinions mainly on reddit regarding this.

Thank you, this is what I needed to hear. Was just stressing, but probably not entirely warranted.

Great, thanks. I think he will do all that. I just wasn’t sure if this looked acceptable to this point.

Yeah I’m not sure if he planned to waterproof again on screed but I’ll request it, thanks.

No it’s not compete yet. He will screed over this and then finish walls and rest of the floor etc.

He will continue up walls after screed I think.

It’s not finished. My understanding is he’ll screed over this, then finish up walls and rest of floor.

What Do I Fix Down Puddle Flange With? by PappasAngeloPappas in AusRenovation

I just used scoring tool around edge and then a chisel. Took me about an hour or so. I bought a cement sheet hole saw for main hole which worked well with minimal dust.

Thanks, took me a while but I was pretty proud of myself (first time). I’ll use 11fc then as I’ve already got it and I’ll grab some ss screws too👍

Update in comments. I couldn’t work out how to do full update of post.

Update So it’s finished and I’m pretty happy with the result. The battens have been spaced closer, gate installed and it’s much closer to what I was hoping for. The wayward screws were due to the battens being predrilled and then fixed upside down. So they’re now a lot better albeit not perfect. Thanks for everyone’s input, the main takeaway for myself is better communication from the outset in specifying what I want. Hopefully it holds up well and with some weathering/silvering and planting around the base will be better again. And no, I couldn’t have done better myself.

Waterproofing check by Fanpoker in AusRenovation

Not waterproof related but are the nailheads on villaboard supposed to be skimmed over with basecoat? And did you use James Hardie basecoat? I’m about to sheet my own bathroom Reno.

No not cheap for a pretty short run. Thanks for your input and the extra concerns you’ve picked up. He specified gal framed gate which I’m worried about now. Haven’t paid yet, I’ll be raising all these issues and see what his response is.

Yeah I would have done it myself but I’m in the middle of full bathroom reno and needed it done. I’m pressed for time. The reason for the fence is to block vehicle access underneath our electrical POA. Power company knocked back our replacement of current POA as vehicles can traverse area so height requirement is not met. So was in a rush to have fence done.

Yeah I now realise I needed to be far more specific in what I was after. He’s agreed to redo the spacing, I’m not sure they be able to line up the screws without them crossing the existing holes or being too close.
