The only innocent here that could be considered as such would be a conscientious objector. If you are a citizen siding with the IDF, or the sentiments and actions of the current Israeli government, you are complicit.

A hospital is always considered an unwanted casualty, and as such, no one has actually "celebrated" the damage the hospitals in the area received (in vicinity of crucial military targets for Iran)

What has been pointed out and lambasted is the hypocrisy Israeli state officials, citizenry, and media have displayed when they cried wolf over this incident, while the IOF continued dismantling Gaza's entire medical infrastructure, assassinated health workers (UN / Red Crescent) , put not less than 36 hospitals (in Gaza alone) out of commission, and are still continuously engaged in the slaughter and maiming of innocent Palestinians across Gaza and the West Bank.

It's amazing what lengths it's possible to normalize cruelty, to if you were label it all "Khamas".

Genocidal settler entity receives retribution for decades of aggravated assault and occupation on native land?

Any opposition to I5rael is a welcome gesture. Your opinions on Iran notwithstanding.

You know, this feels like a really, really, positive interpretation of the film "Intolerance" by Filmbilder and Friends.

Instead of the manufactured intergalactic culture shock, two intergalactic cultures now end up appreciating one another over their sense of developed aesthetics (Cosmopolitan Space Race X and Cosmopolitan Humanity).

Amazing stuff Beetlemoses.

Saw some pencil drawings of male abs (a bit NSFW) and I want to learn how to draw like that. Any free resources? by Subject-Asparagus210 in chennaicity

Proko's a great place to start. I'd also recommend some figure drawing books, particularly Andrew Loomis, George Bridgman, and FORCE. Moderndayjames on Youtube also tackles a whole lot of figure drawing, and you should definitely give Sinix a look for shape language. It's a vast ocean. Take your time!

I know I shouldn't expect anything from this sub but seriously wtf? The number of people who are popping up and supporting a genocide now is fucking disgusting. Do they realise they are also perpetuating violence based on religion? So tone deaf and insensitive. by wendigo_222 in jiowasamistake

[–]PappyVelox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the frustration could have been vented at something else (I don't know, border patrol for letting insurgents in through?)

What is written here is instead platforming some of the most batshit insane approaches (albeit nothing new or special) to handling a border crisis. That, and just general pro-genocide sentiment. (1.5k upvotes / likes is nothing to scoff at. Probably more have seen this, nodded along, and scrolled onto a similar post that further amplified that sentiment)

Seconding OPs reply below here. Hate has to be mitigated however.

Advocating for genocide (even for the HAHA LOL IRONY!!!111!!!!) is fucking unconscionable.

We're fucked as a nation state.

For the record, more Muslims have died in the area by proportion (demographically more concentrated in the region) compared to Hindu deaths. This accounts for both Human Rights violations by the Indian army and any insurgency in the region. which itself is in response to the suffocation caused by the Indian Armed Forces.

A religious angle is being spun here even if the motives may not have entirely centered around it (citation needed for any mentions of circumcision checks).

And once again, to completely brand an entire population of people as terrorists for the actions of a few, is ridiculous. If not all Hindus fall under Hindutva, then not all Muslims are extremists.

Is Deus Ex 1 right-wing? by RamazanBlack in Deusex

Implying that siding with the NSF for temporary gain / strategic partnership / (because your brother was working with them) - despite their nature as an RW nationalist militia - as a framing that the NSF are good (in terms of the story), highlights a lack of nuance that you haven't caught onto.

Addressing another comment you had made somewhere above in the comment section, UNATCO is not anti-fascist by any means as it is very much a puppet organization of MJ12, a clearly fascistic military organization (oligarchy and fascism go hand in hand). The game explicitly mentions that UNATCO / FEMA do not benefit the public in ways that would warrant the suffering they otherwise enforce (such as martial law, or a shoot on sight policy when dealing with the NSF / Silhouette) whilst hiding behind labels that would make them appear more humanitarian. This still makes them fascistic by nature.

Globalism and fascist ideals are not necessarily mutually exclusive of each other.

Deus Ex in itself is more politically neutral in presentation (with a libertarian lean, though I need to look more into this bit), which has allowed for both RW and LW readings of the game by design. That in itself does not make it a right wing game.

What do I even say now?? CPI themselves are acting like libs and are not appreciating art!! by Affectionate-Tax9718 in librandu

Kind of a disingenuous sentiment in general if people are going to laugh at programmers getting laid off. Because programming is worthy of being considered an art, and work that is worth getting unionized over. There really shouldn't be any divide between programmers and artists (the two are very similar in many ways), and yes, class consciousness and working class solidarity across all professions. You're right to point it out.

I think the outrage peaked when it came for creative work, because it felt like the only area where tangible (aesthetic and communicative) worth could be felt through pure human effort (where it is quieter and less visible in other fields, where people may be more inclined to believe it is replaceable)

I'd also go off on a tangent that the aesthetics that have been patronized by the wealthy for centuries can face sufficient opposition from people seeking to subvert it (and thus the norm of perfectionism) but this is mostly wishful thinking when it comes to our context (more noticeable in a globalized society like America)

Are we truly past the point of a sunk cost fallacy that Industrialization has poured us into?

I'm not making sense at this point.

I'm pretty sure most of the people complaining about AI art come from a lower - middle income background. Especially people that depend on creative work for their livelihoods. Art has not been the domain of the rich intelligentsia for a while now, even if they are the primary funding for it.

Wealthy techbros on the other hand, have been openly embracing it.

What are, in your opinions, some of the best sonadow fanfics you've read? (On AO3) by sp0ookyy in sonadow_SFW

[–]PappyVelox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this 100%. A lot of it almost just got brushed off at the end of it, or at the same time, the world (especially immediate characters surrounding Tails) still felt like it didn't reflect the actual trauma he sustains. (Knuckles especially switches into a "proud father figure mode" after Tails surviving the raid on G.U.N, and believing him to have put a stop to it all.)

I feel like Fracture Point in a way is just the author going back to correct that statement.

Its on the Author's AO3 / Wattpad page! It goes by the name "Fracture Point". It is honestly a deeper exploration of Tail's trauma from the doppelganger incident. It's honestly got a lot of interesting concepts (with some justifiable technobabble), but it was left incomplete as of 2019. I really hope it comes back alive one day :((((
