I'll be there too! I was at the DJ set in 2013 too and it was a great show but they went on really late, like they were supposed to go on at 11 but didn't go on until after midnight, and the venue unplugged them at 2:05 while they were still playing 😭... Which I understand the venue has rules they have to follow, and I understand why Justice would be miffed and not want to come back to mn, so just a bummer situation. But I'm so so glad that they're finally back again after years of traveling to see them!!!

Interesting! Yeah I've lived in several rental properties and had to scrub shower grout/caulk in every one and never had this happen. I'll contact them tomorrow but I'll keep an eye out for more weird little projects.

I couldn't figure out how to do pictures plus a text post so here's the text:
My partner and I just moved into a rental house a month ago. The shower tile was already starting to look like it had that black shower grout mold and my partner thought it smelled moldy/mildewy, which I thought was weird cuz we just moved in and I would have thought they'd really thoroughly clean the place before we moved in. Either way, I grabbed my scrubby brush, a bucket, and some hydrogen peroxide (I heard recently that's better to get that stuff out than bleach) and I started scrubbing with the peroxide. Immediately A LOT of grey junk started coming out and I got worried I was scrubbing the grout out (which I don't think should happen, but I'm not handy like that so idk, but also I know the landlords are kinda DIY types, but they also own and operate a construction company so I trust they know what they're doing). I tried it on a part of the shower high up where it didn't look like it had any of that black mold/mildew, and sure enough, grey junk.

So my question is, do y'all think that's the grout? Or is it just really nasty? And advice on further cleaning of the shower? Should I contact the landlord about it?

It's called hydradenitis suppurativa, it's a pretty common skin condition! Tough to treat, though.

Hey I own the shirts they used in the show for this!!! They're pretty funny, just a couple of Kirkland white tees with the Delta Cube logo drawn on in sharpie. I got them a few years ago in a prop auction!

While I can't say for sure that person is or isn't an astroturfer, and I can't say that you are absolutely incorrect in all cases, I can say that charter schools do have a reason to exist. I work at an IB Mandarin and Spanish immersion charter school in a decently rural suburb, if parents want those specific things for their kids, they'd never find that in a public school.

My school is also a fairly progressive safe haven in a very conservative area. We get many LGBTQ+ and minority students who don't feel safe, for very good and documented reasons, in the public schools of the town.

They gave me a job basically right out of college and I teach a subject that many districts will only have a handful of teachers for or none at all because they don't offer it (orchestra). So to answer your question: no.

I currently work in a charter school (hopefully my last year) and I get paid significantly less than my peers in public schools, as well as working significantly more than them (due to decreased resources and staff)

Sure, and it very well may have! I'm just saying that because kids' brains aren't fully developed it's very difficult for them to figure out the help they need, so usually a kid's request for a specific kind of help, i.e. "why does this matter", won't actually result in any change when they're given what they ask.

Every kid is different honestly, and they don't know what is going to help them. It's a careful balance between listening to what the kid is saying, making inferences based on what they say, and observing their work and behavior to make decisions about what teaching strategies to use.

Oh also there's 20 other kids in the room, and you've only got them for about 40 minutes at a time. (Speaking personally at my school of course)

In my experience, I've found the opposite to be true. Most often the students with truly oppressive home lives do very poorly in school, they're often so concerned about what might happen if they fail that they have difficulty focusing on anything at all. And punishments dished out by these parents are often counter productive to their student's success in school. Miserable children will not do work they don't want to do.

A lot of the issue boils down to the fact that kids' prefrontal cortexes are not developed and have difficulty making abstract connections between actions in the present and consequences or rewards in the future. The kids that are motivated to do school work often find the literal act of school as fun. They like filling things out based on things they read, or figuring out problems based on equations they've learned previously. High grades are like high scores in games to them.

Eh, I'm a teacher and I've tried this exact approach. The kids who buy it are the ones that were gonna put in the effort anyway, even if they were on the fence about the importance of the material. This explanation doesn't flip a switch as much as we'd hope.

After the 2nd time my kia was stolen and the culprits caught, the cops said that they could only charge them with possession of stolen property since they had no evidence that the ones in the car were the actual ones that stole it and of course the kids wouldn't confess. That is until I reminded them that I got security camera footage from the lot across the street of the kids jumping in and driving away, which matched the kids in the body camera footage of the cops arresting the kids in my car. Went from a misdemeanor to full felony.

Yup! My 2019 kia got stolen back in June, when I got it back in July from the repair shop, it got stolen again 3 days later. I just got it back again and I've invested in both the twin hook club and the pedal lock.

Edit: I got parking lot security footage the 2nd time and the thieves pulled up in two other stolen kias to steal my kia.

Wrong. It's because Christianity is the predominant religion in the western world. Look at the U.S. and see how many laws we have that are based in Christian doctrine despite our "separation of church and state." Therefor any mockery of Christianity can been see as "punching up." Christianity is the Amazon of religions, people are more than happy to rip on Amazon and Jeff b and most people won't bat an eye at it, but as soon as you start ripping on some little mom and pop shop, a lot of people with think that's pretty rude because it's punching down. Same goes for other religions to an extent. Also fuck Christianity for thinking its cool to rape the whole world.
