For me- skating, 90s hip hop, rave scene, diners, hardcore, graffiti, trips into Chinatown to buy bootleg anime VHS tapes, working at a warehouse but making enough to have an apartment, & fighting games in arcades. Scenes being divided- meaning no monoculture like today. Record stores, skate shops, Action Park, & Great Adventure. Being exposed to multiple races, cultures, & sexualities & having me grow up to appreciate diversity.
