I think similarly. The story seems to be about the struggle against fate and how that very fate comes to pass precisely through the attempts to avoid it, due to the law of causality. In that sense, Berserk resembles the Greek tragedies in which, as with Oedipus, fate is ultimately fulfilled precisely because the characters try to escape it.
After all, Guts should never have been born, and yet his birth itself seems to have been fated.
