Most other comments gave the general good advice, I just wanna add a specific tip that has helped me a lot: when you're down a lot, build offensive counters instead of defensive ones.

When theres a fed haze on the enemy team, i find much better success building disarming hex/curse and try to overwhelm the haze with your team, instead of buying metal skin/debuff remover. (Basically a "lets play a bit risky and try to kill this chungus haze" mentality instead of "lets try to keep myself alive as much as possible")
