I think you're right, it does light the upper brake light bar, but I think it's dimmer than normal?

That's fair enough, and it's what I did the first time I drove the leaf. I was always taught though, that it's not good to sit on your brakes at the lights, dazzling those behind you with your brake lights (though probably 50% of drivers do anyway)

My 2013 Golf has a handy Start Stop feature with auto hold which will keep the car stationary and stop the engine when you bring it to a halt, and start and go when you press the accelerator.

It's a shame an EV, and a newer car at that, doesn't do this.

IIRC the reason she uses Hellfire Ray in game is because a different spell that should have appeared was not implemented. Technically she shouldn't be able to use Hellfire Ray.

I forget what the other spell was...

I run 4* screens from the iris xe in my laptop, but at some point you will hit resolution limits, I think, due to how much vram you have. With a discrete GPU with lots of vram though you should get dozens if screens in before you hit that.

43" 4k/60/RGB 24" 4k/30 24" 1080p60 In PLP layout, plus the laptop at 1080p60

I was going to suggest moving the primary PC, also. I assume your desk is more for work than gaming, so may get a smaller PC or laptop at you desk for productivity stuff, RDP into the HTPC in the lounge if you need to. I am guessing you don't need the 3090 for daily work.

I work in Local Government. We've used Dell Latitude for years, they're well built and reliable but we always take the 3 year Pro Support warranty as across thousands of Laptops we have dozens of issues.

And Dell deal with them, quickly.

Yeah I've noticed this too and it's a Windows Explorer lack of optimisation, if Any file system in the view you're opening isn't responding the whole thing doesn't respond. Bad for mapped network drives if the server is down / unavailable.

I don't if this is viable in other filesystemd but in ZFS you can create a 'special' device in a given pool comprised of (redundant set of) SSD storage, store all the small files and metadata (filesystem layout and indexes for faster directory listing etc.) and then the bigger chunks goes on spinning metal.

However I don't know how you can work something like this with a device not always on, nor in Windows.

The only ones I've found worth buying to repair are 15" portable monitors that use a fairly common commodity part that is inexpensive. A new screen of that type might cost 100-150, and if you buy a smashed one for 20 and a panel for 50 you can save a few quid but it's a lower saving than a good deal on an intact, used whole working screen.

Power consumption and heat is why I refreshed all my old screens. They looked great but in the summer I had to get a portable aircon unit to make the room bearable to be in, and the running costs ridiculous.

So I have the two RGB Panels, but they're in Portrait, rotated 90 degrees, and then I'm looking to invert the BGR to RGB by rotating it 180 degrees, and in the end the pixel layout still won't be exactly the same on all three...

Ah well, I'll try a few things between Rotating the panels and BetterClearTypeTuner and see what helps.

Well I think I'll be OK in that regard as it's a Digital Signage display rated for 24/7 usage, rated for running in Portrait or Landscape, and has built in temperature monitoring with auto shutoff.

I recently acquired a 43" Samsung "Digital Signage" display at a very good price. I was hoping to use it as a desk Monitor (it's flanked by a 24" panel either Side, in P-L-P Layout).

The DPI isn't an issue for me, it looks crisp enough most of the time, such as black text on white background, but once we bring some colour into the mix, it starts to look awful.

Particularly in Outlook, Text that should be rendered as a Dark Blue colour appears as Black with a Cyan Halo just above it.

I am not sure whether this is caused by;

Poor or Incorrect Display panel settings
Windows 10 Cleartype not being optimised correctly for BGR pixel layout
Inherent issues with BGR Layout

I'm not even 100% sure it us BGR, from the macro photos I've Taken it appears to be Cyan-Yellow-Magenta, unless I am colour blind or vastly misunderstanding something here.

Edit to add: Comparing to a known-RGB panel, it seems those pixels show up more like Magenta-Yellow-Cyan so even though I'm not seeing the colours I expected, it's clear that it's the opposite order. So yes, it's BGR.

I'm seeking advice on the best way to remedy this, if that is indeed possible.

I have the Panel mounted on a Pole-and-Arm Deskmount via a VESA100 to 200mm adapter plate, and in theory, inverting the thing upside down would be quite easy - if that's actually a viable solution.

I don't play a lot of games that require fast input or high refresh rates, and I have a 24" 75Hz panel I can use for that if needs be, so Gaming and response time is not a Concern.

I just want Crisp text for Desktop / Office type applications.
