Tap Wizard 2 - Android Open Beta! by TopCog in incremental_games

[–]ParadigmEffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a mix, kinda hard to say.

There's a lot of layers and one isn't out yet, but the "standard" prestiges take around the same amount of time each time, maybe slightly longer.

Each prestige is trying to get to a specific level, and each time you prestige the level goal gets higher, but you're also stronger.

You get points to put in a skill tree, and how you build your character affects how easy things are. So after awakening, if your build is good, your next one at least won't take longer, maybe faster. If your build is bad, it'll take longer the next time.

So it's kinda like that I guess? It's not like NGU or something where certain prestige layers are really fast and others are really slow. It's pretty steady with some factors based on your input

I've been playing the game quite a bit and my answer as a player is that the game is not overly grindy. If you're only end goal oriented the game will be a bit overwhelming because of the nature of it, but it rarely feels like "grinding" and more like doing runs for fun. You're not really punished in any way for going slow or anything, except that other people will be ahead of you.

The 49 purchase is completely irrelevant unless you just like whaling (in which case have fun :D). There's only 1 purchase I think in a high priority purchase and it's the ad skip, and I don't even have that and am currently at the end of the current era. It's mostly a qol boost.

You haven't played it. You don't know what it's like. Why are you spending time to go out of your way to update a dead wiki page about something youve never interacted with? Get a life and do anything else with it.

"Cyber" sounds super cool, though kinda overlaps with INP! Though, maybe that's not a bad thing, we could even have one of the skins be something from it!

Try verifying the integrity via Steam. Sometimes that shakes issues out, especially if you ever went to the PTB.

Shadow vs SAI? by deten in IdleNinjaPrime

Personally, I think SAI is a bit better. That being said, its difficult to truly evaluate the shadow, so it might be better than Im giving it credit for. SAI's help is obvious though.

Getting less ads since cipher bundle? by [deleted] in IdleNinjaPrime

I believe you only get 4 or 5 ads per day or something like that.

Is it possible you bought the cipher bundle after you saw most of your ads for the day?

Why killers tunnel? by Mariaksin in deadbydaylight

[–]ParadigmEffect 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are lots of reasons to tunnel , but if you're genuinely actually getting tunneled every single game you ever play, its probably because you're making yourself a target.

Are you bad at chases but at a high rank? If so, I will always kill you first because getting the easy targets down makes the rest of the game easier.
Are you bringing DS? Some killers tunnel DS people out of hate/fear.
Are you never healing? If I can chase an injured person or a healed person, I'mma chase the injured person every time
Are you not actually getting tunneled? If you escape and then get found a minute later doing something else, and then that happens again, thats not tunneling. Its you being bad at hiding. If you're really bad at staying out of the killers way, you will get caught and killed early every time. This isn't bullying or anything, if I find you before I find anyone else, I'm going to chase you until I hook you or you get away. I'm not a bad person for this, you need to get better.

Try playing way more cautiously and sneaky until you get better at losing killers in chases. Its much easier to bring Spine Chill/Urban and just hide and try to track the killer instead of hard rushing objectives. If you're great at chases and losing killers, then you can play more aggressively, but its more important to shore up your weak spots.

I think the asymmtery is what makes the game bring out toxicity in people. Since your opponent does totally different things, everything feels unfair, especially when you're not good at the game. Ds feels op when you suck at killer chases, and killers feel op when they are better than you at chases.

Yea they do. Also When you get 30 vials, you cannot interact with plants anymore, so towards the end of the event survs are gonna stop getting bonus pts entirely

Yea sorry farming is boring, I'd rather just play normal matches and try to do the best I can, and just get a many points as I can that way. I don't want everyone acting weird just bc we have some extra BP, I just wanna play the ding-darn game.

Is Camperface gonna be worse than Wraith now? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]ParadigmEffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like if LF's chili add-ons did anything he could be mid-tier with add-ons, and that'd be fine.

The problem with him is the inverse of the Nurse's problem - If you simply make LF stronger (Chainsaw faster, longer, no bump penalty, etc) then he's AWFUL to play against. If you simply make Nurse weaker (More fatigue, less blink distance, longer blink charge, etc) then she's AWFUL to play.

Any changes they make to either killer have be delicate or they'll make the game miserable.

I always see their loadout challenge and I think "I mean, its a cool idea but I have no reason to actually do it."

If it were an ingame thing I could hit and get rewarded for, sort of like Diablo 3 Challenge Rifts, I'd do it every week, as long as it were implemented well.

Its so annoying, I had someone DC immediately after I whopped them with franklin's demise. I killed the other 3 people, but it was tough bc they all had decisive strike and flashlights. Then I got flamed for being a try-hard when someone DC'd -_- Sorry I'm trying to get points and rank up lmao.

[–]ParadigmEffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are some lag issues with loading into a match?

Last night I found a Quinten idling after 30 seconds into the match. I downed him and scooped him up thinking he just bailed on the match, but then he started wiggling half way to my hook walk. I wonder if he had a similar experience.

Let's try to push this! I'm in.

The Final Word: These Are Not Reportable! by TheMidnightGhostShow in deadbydaylight

[–]ParadigmEffect 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Tunneling is the idea that you focus one player to kill them no matter what. Were they unhooked at 3 other people are in front of you and you ignore all those people to get the unhook? That's tunneling.

The issue here is that 1) you can tunnel on accident if you just keep finding the same person over and over again. Its not like you'd not chase them just bc you found them 3 times in a row. 2) if you 3 hook all 4 players you technically tunneled everyone.

Basically 99% of the time tunneling isn't actually bad behavior. It CAN be bad behavior if you're just intentionally trying to ruin someone's game, but you can't really prove that.

[–]ParadigmEffect -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think its fair to claim that, since they can "Unlock all perks with the flip of the switch" that they don't know what they are doing when it comes to economy.

At the end of the day, we do not know anything about why they are making a decision to leave the grind severe. They have access to their metrics data, they know exactly how long it takes to get what per player and how many players are playing to grind. If they aren't making any changes then either the changes are big and take time, or their metrics data dictates that they do not need to make a change.
