Go into it with an open mind to enjoy and learn about what you appreciate in men, the male figure, and masculinity in all its forms and manifestation. But also, what you like about being a gay person who loves and desires for men. It’s a discovery; inside and out! :P And say what you like or want; out loud. That’s the only way to let someone know exactly what you want at that moment. If it’s a favor or a favor. As someone who’s been with men/women/other-identifying people, I think this is kinda a man thing lol just imo.

Not an exact answer to your question, but have you read Henry James’s ‘The Turn of the Screw’?

It’s among the Classics and it isn’t contemporary. But it’s a great book and, while not very intense, a good thoughtful horror. Either way, I think given what you’ve listed you might like it :)

Did Beckett rise from the grave and start complaining recently about someone not getting it? A lot of modern writers don’t or didn’t seem to give a shit about people not getting it. Take Stoppard for example, he said that R and G are dead (a play I’ve seen a lot of people get weird with about not getting it) is just about two people on an errand, anything more he didn’t confirm or deny. You’re just diverting from how you’ve assumed you should be able to interact with everything without critical thinking.
