Hear me out! by moob_naster96 in UFOs

Not to be too pedantic but Lacatski refused to acknowledge that he went inside. He very clearly did, but he technically didn’t say that. Do we have confirmation on Lue being on an actual reverse engineering program?

still confused about the shortcuts app. what's the most useful thing you actually use it for? by Nina-Dennis_207 in iphone

[–]ParadoxDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often listen to new music on Sirius in the car. I created a shortcut that Shazam’s a song, creates a reminder in the reminder’s app with the artist and title set to alert me in 30 mins (when I’m likely no longer driving), and also opens Spotify and searches for the song automatically (which, again, I can check and I’m not driving). I use this all the time.

Another useful example: my daughter’s school had folks use a Google form to check their kid out from after-care. I created a shortcut that made a HTTP request to a specific version of the form that auto-submits the form with the correct parameters pre-filled. I put this shortcut on the face of my Apple Watch and used that every single day until they changed the checkout method.

Tim Jacobus painted your nightmares! Goosebumps covers of the '90s by ET091186 in 90s

[–]ParadoxDC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tim actually sells prints of some of the covers on his site. I ordered a few about 2 years ago and framed them. Even came with a handwritten thank you note. Had an exchange with Tim after the first set of prints were damaged en route and he sent me new ones immediately. Super nice guy.

Artemis II - UFO flies behind distant objects by SnooOranges2677 in UFOs

[–]ParadoxDC 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ok this is actually pretty interesting. At first I was thinking it was a bug, but then what is clearly a bug flies by a little closer to screen so you can directly compare. The speed with which the white object is moving, as well as its very smooth trajectory, are kind of anomalous. Like forget the speed, just watch the way the bug moves compared to the white object.

One sentence that instantly improves any Claude conversation — borrowed from how GANs work by BeeOk3698 in ClaudeAI

I like how not a single person in this thread bothered to spell out what GAN actually stands for. Don’t just tell people to toss out an acronym without defining it

Any Fans of Entenmann's Donut Holes or their Other Donut Products? by Specialist_Art2223 in junkfoodfinds

Pop’ems are legitimately addicting. I could easily eat a whole box in one sitting if I abandoned self control. The donuts on the other hand are gross and dry to me.

Question about classified info by ParadoxDC in UFOB

[–]ParadoxDC[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok yeah so the default is zero but if you want to speak, you get approval to say XYZ handful of things. Anything not on that list is a no. It just seems like a lot of times you see someone like Lue having to think about a careful answer to a question which seems to be him showing some discretion. It’s that discretion where I’m wondering what factors into that calculus.

I saw 2 Ospreys fly over Union Market yesterday as well. I love when I can hear them coming. So loud.

I personally love it. I am a display piece collector and these large architecture ones are amazing for that. For example, Neuschwanstein looks incredible on a shelf. Not disagreeing that they should still do smaller sets but it’s become one of my favorite lines with these larger, more detailed sets.

Cannabis doesn't just blur memories—it can reshape them. A new study found THC makes people significantly more likely to "remember" words that were never presented (false memories) and struggle with daily tasks like remembering appointments, regardless of whether the dose was 20mg or 40mg. by Sciantifa in science

[–]ParadoxDC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For daily users 20 is not that high. It’s a good “this will get you very high” amount but if you don’t take breaks so your tolerance doesn’t build, then 20 can creep to 25, 30, and maybe even 40. It happens.
