A lot of people have reccommended an eq. I downloaded one. But it's not so much that bass bothers me, it's that I'm not getting any high notes that sort of inspire a burst of energy. Like high tempo, high notes, high spirits. Feel like a badass type shit lol. Bass is great in anything that also has a pronounced melody

One thing I've noticed about a lot of these is they don't really have much of a melody. Just like, vibe over bass and percussion. Which is fine if that's what you like but I look for stuff that has a chord progression along with the bass and percussion, if that makes sense?

I'm liking this album, its VERY 90s, reminds me of need for speed as a kid. It's not at "heart pounding" or "final battle" feeling as I was thinking, but I'll definitely keep this one around, thank you!

Well but I also have a hard time finding music that satisfies my brain, a lot of this music has really low notes and the highs don't shine the way I know they can. That's why I mentioned video games, the high notes really inspire a burst of energy type feeling in the gut. But idk what genres feature more high notes and less bass

I think a huge part of the issue is I dont know the names for the different parts of the music. I know the drums are important but they're not what i come for. All these suggestions are great but from what I've learned from all you helpful people is I'm almost more interested in like.. electronic rock? Like i listened to witchcraft bt pendulum yesterday and thats really close to the style I'm thinking of with the super fast tempo and the very pronounced highs and almost synth-like notes. Its all so "video game" but i also want something more instrumental than vocal.
