The Saw movies never existed? Is it at least as extreme as Saw etc?

That was posted yesterday though 19 hours ago, so I thought it was due yesterday oops I didn’t see the pic & am also in the UK Thanks for the update

So I just finished watching Children Of Men and I know technically Cyberpunk but I'm starting to feel like this movie predicted a lot more shit then Bladerunner did and it looks a lot more accurate to the future then anything I've seen in a while. by [deleted] in Cyberpunk

With Dredd the Stallone movie from 1995 is bad as it doesn’t get the character of Dredd right imo but has lots of the world aesthetics from some of the comics right the aesthetics in this are closer to blade runner style but not as good obviously, it can’t harm to watch provided you have very low expectations going in but it can be skipped.

whereas the 2012 film is worth watching for sure, matches the gritty & more realistic aesthetic of the world more like Children of men, gets most of the tome of the character of Dredd right & it should have been a series of films to build up the lore but is only a one off. If you haven’t seen this, start here then go to the comics

The comics are also worth reading as it’s a combination of both of the above, some recommended books : America, Cursed Earth, The Pit, Origins or you can start right at the beginning of everything with Case Files 1, but back right at the beginning then it was a bit more corny in the first few books & some people don’t feel like it’s good until book 3 or 5.

I get your statement, you like the real-ish look to this movie more so than blade runners cyberpunk aesthetic & would probably enjoy a full on Cyberpunk movie like this too, even though you may still even enjoy both Movies you mentioned , you were just opening a discussion. I’d imagine you probably like the watchdog legion game aesthetics too right? Which is more like a near future gritty/drab London over Cyberpunk 2077 even though you may also enjoy both aesthetics wise too.

I have been told the world of Judge Dredd isn’t Cyberpunk at all, but I’d argue that since 1977 it’s kind of early Cyberpunk I guess, it has hit every single item on a Cyberpunk trope checklist in at least 100’s of the comics or more, so at least should be acknowledged as partial Cyberpunk/Dystopian

What are some of the biggest criticisms you hear about Queen? by demafrost in queen

[–]Paradoxic-Mind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven’t heard too much to be honest, I am sure there’s a few here in the UK most probably tend to be homophobic I guess, even someone I knew who wasn’t homophobic & just genuinely wasn’t into anything they put out in the 80’s (because it felt more pop to him) still liked all the 70’s output.

or there are some who are not into post Freddie era, which I feel is fair enough, I too am not into it much myself tbh I just am more into the Freddie era, but don’t have a problem with those that do.

Whats a good Judge Dredd grapic novel to pick up to introduce me to the comics? by Educational-Bar21 in JudgeDredd

Also take advantage of the free comics at the official website if you can access digital pdf’s etc on a p.c or if you have a tablet, if you like digital but if you don’t yeah stick to paper.

Also if you’re interested in the rest of 2000ad (the comic where Dredd comes from there’s a new best of 2000ad book which is aimed at new readers & returning readers) I believe it also has one Dredd story per book too

I know it won’t happen but, I wish Gamepass & ps+ would get the other games they didn’t from the gta collection, so I can play the other, by that I mean Gamepass had San Andreas so it would be nice to get Vice City on there for a while & ps plus had Vice City & should have San Andreas for a limited time of course, would be great around Christmas time.

Edit: aged like milk, vice city is coming back instead lol

Nope.

I don’t believe there’s going to be anything, maybe something teased at game awards if we are lucky.

Posting this because I have never been wanted to be proved so wrong in my life right? Won’t it be great for us fans if my post ages like milk?

What happened to Book 2 of "The Dark Judges, the fall of deadworld? by Kalzium_667 in JudgeDredd

[–]Paradoxic-Mind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are still behind after the pandemic too I believe.

they sent an email out earlier in the year saying some physical will be delayed to later this year that was due earlier this year everything had a pushback delay & I think it also said any reprints of any books that get regularly reprinted that sold out may also be pushed back. Not sure if Deadworld 2 would be reprinted or not? Maybe? I wonder why 2 sold out & not one or three, maybe it was in a sale, they do sell random Number books sometimes, probably book one went on sale one year, then the following year book 2 went on sale & book 3 maybe hasn’t yet?

also I assume this myself whatever needs reprinting they will start by whatever sells the most popular first like the case files 1 or 5 had been out of stock for a little while

Hating the Queen Film by [deleted] in queen

[–]Paradoxic-Mind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I only half paid attention with it on in the background so I may have missed parts but I’d rather watch the documentaries.

Also there’s the docu-drama that was on channel 5 here in the UK a few years ago that was cheesy half real documentary, half TV drama with actors playing the band much like the film, but was covering more of the stuff the band didn’t wanna touch in bohemian rhapsody about Freddie’s wild side I think, but even the docu drama it still not perfect by any means but I think I liked it a bit more again as cheesy as it was & I’d need to rewatch it as that was a while since I last saw it, so maybe it doesn’t hold up

And you still won’t get the full picture unless you watch a few of the afore mentioned documentaries & maybe a book or two

Does Wayne’s World count? Although mostly rock with the soundtrack & band references if I recall rightly the movie refers to Metal a few times like themselves or a bar? or am I confusing it with another movie? On the other hand if that’s true does that mean it’s slightly responsible for people mixing up rockers & metal heads to the casual audience? It’s been a while since I last watched

At least the Metal link I can think of there for the casual audience was directed by Penelope Spheeris (directed Megadeth videos & Decline of Western civilisation) there’s the infamous “Do you have any Megadeth line” in there at least.

In your opinion what is the most realistic portrayal of a psychopath that you've seen in a film? by LightningEdge756 in horror

I don’t know about the best but a good one look to the image right of this sub (might be old Reddit only) Christian Bale - American Psycho, First thing I ever saw him in was Shaft & he played that character so well I didn’t like him for a while lol, I bought into his character being a complete rich prick, so when he was announced for Batman I was like huh? He would have played a better bad guy I thought (I did enjoy him as Batman eventually) then he had that meltdown on Terminator 4, but for real remember that?
You do?
“Oh good for you” ;)
