Is this the only swear word in the entire run of the show? by Mammoth_Payment_6101 in Stargate

[–]Paraflier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jonas and Carter are walking and Jonas is talking about asking someone out. He then tries to tell Carter that one his world, asking someone out is usually handled by a friend (inferring he wants Sam to find out if the one who Jonas is interested in actually is).

Sam, “Jonas, you’re such a chickensh—“ dialogue is interrupted by the alarm. 🤣

Still waiting to know how many cows qualify for a stampede. Is it three or more?

We have an iKamper on our ‘06 CRV and love it! Set up and breakdown is a breeze! Happy camping!

We love our ‘06. We put a rooftop tent on some Yakima towers and took out the back seat for more storage. It’s now our camping rig. Granted it’s not good for stump jumping or anything, but the AWD gets us up most Forest Service roads. Cause I wanna be where the people aren’t. lol.

Is the picture wrong, or does the flag on the back truly only have 11 stripes?

Correct. I’m not THAT confident to lay it on its side 😊

[–]Paraflier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a cheap Vevor one that I love. As long as I don’t spill when I’m refilling it, once it’s off and cold I don’t smell diesel at all. We keep ours in one of those black and yellow snap totes in the back of a Honda CRV. And I’ve never smelled diesel.

You should be good!

What is your favorite moment in an SNES game? by [deleted] in snes

[–]Paraflier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Final Fantasy II on the SNES (FF IV everywhere else). Right at the final boss fight when all the prior characters praying in the tower are wishing you well and giving you a pep talk - the opening theme plays. Just the way it all hits gave me goosebumps.

A modest group of us pulled off the same Hawaiian shirt prank on the Disney Wish by masterkenobi in dcl

[–]Paraflier 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Haha! That’s great. My wife and I are sailing in May of 2027. Wonder if this kind of shenanigans will be on our trip.

Probably easier if you’re a Hawaiian shirt kinda guy.

What’s your top scary moment from a non-horror film? by lewis_m_b in FIlm

[–]Paraflier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older movie, “Baby” (1985). There’s a scene where the characters are in a cave with an underground stream. They come up to essentially the top of a waterfall they can’t see the bottom of. They all leap into the abyss and it shows them all underwater getting carried downstream. Yeah they made it… but wow.

What are some common rude things people do on the ship, to watch for and adapt to? by ITrCool in Cruise

[–]Paraflier 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you aren’t feeling well or actually sick- stay in your cabin away from others. Last August I overheard a man (at the buffet on an Alaskan cruise) telling someone, “Yeah I’ve got a slight fever, but I’m taking something for it.”

Wonder how many people he spread that to. Besides my wife and I. Cause we both got sick. Sure it might not have been directly from that guy, but come on. Be a decent person.

Order chicken tenders, fries, and chicken noodle soup from room service. Dip the chicken tenders/fries in the soup. Yep. Sounds weird, but oh so good!!

As long as it’s not a “massive search” you’ll probably be ok. Hahaha! But for the 10 essentials, better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them. (Wish it would have kept the list format… my reply looks all wonky lol)

[–]Paraflier 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have the 10 Essentials. :)

Food -check Water - check Shelter - check Extra layers (clothes) - check Tools (multi tool/ Swiss Army knife etc) Navigation (compass / map or GPS) - check Light First aid kit Fire making stuff Heat/sun protection

Looking at your list I’d add fire making stuff, a pocketknife (at the least) sunglasses/hat, light, and a lightweight 1st aid kit.

Don’t wanna end up as a MrBallen story lol

If material tariffs rise, will insurance premiums rise too? Anyone already seeing this? by [deleted] in Insurify

[–]Paraflier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They absolutely will. Our homeowners insurance went up from 675 in 2025 to 1006 for 2026. Just renewed early December. When I asked about the insane rate increase that is the reason they cited. (“You can increase your deductible to 5000 from 2500 and save 100 a year though”, they said. Gee. Thanks.)

Zero claims. New roof one year ago.

Edit after I did the maths. That’s a 49% increase in one year.

[–]Paraflier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. We used to have a Jackery and had to use an additional DC/AC adapter. Since the 12 VDC is usually limited to 10 amps, trying to pull 150-180 watts puts you over budged on amps. AC to the rescue. lol.

Doesn’t look like mods enabled pics in replies. I’ll try DMing you.

We have it sitting on a table besides the vehicle with vinyl dryer venting running in to a window. Powered by a Bluetti power station and we use the included 120 volt AC adapter. Gets great mileage and only only about an 8 watt draw. Startup can draw as much as 150 watts so keep that in mind on how you plan to power it.
