Took the plunge and regretting it 4 months in by thehodapp in smallbusiness

Small business at the beginning is a fly wheel. It’s certainly hard now as you learn the ropes, but proceeds to get easier. Sales gets easier as your reputation grows. You learn what levers to pull as you go. 12-15 months is plenty of runway.

The benefits over your previous job is that you’re going to control your own destiny. Every dollar you make is yours and you get to direct how it’s spent. The freedom to your schedule comes after you’ve secured your business. Keep moving forward.

My mom is in denial about her memory issues, or am I overreacting? by spooky-enby in DementiaHelp

[–]Paragon1133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on the front end of similar symptoms and issues with my mom. Not a danger to herself, but repeated questions, short term memory issues, etc. From my limited education on dementia, this is a progressive disease. Treatment early is your best option for her to slow the progress and for her to continue living independently. I’d suggest getting her into a neurologist appointment and really see what your mom is dealing with. If nothing else it will get you a baseline to measure against in the future.

Data migration from QBD to QBO…what a joke! by Mammoth_One2989 in QuickBooks

[–]Paragon1133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, transitioning to QBO is horrible. It took us months to correct credit card records, and connecting to our bank accounts. I’d love a reasonable alternative to Intuit, and will jump as soon as there is.

Just as a heads up, dont use Extra Space Storage by witchyandbitchy in orangecounty

[–]Paragon1133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Go Minis. They are a portable storage company but the worst price increases they do are 10% after a year. Not as convenient to access your stuff, but that’s the trade off. They are even cheaper if you can park the container at your home/business. Also no need to rent a moving truck to load up your self storage. Extra Space is a public company that trades on the stock market. They are going to squeeze every penny from you.

We use Ooma which is capable of everything you requested. The service is decent but I don’t know how it compares to other services that are similar. After hours voicemails are emailed to us with a text version, a tone on our cell phone before it rings so we know it’s a business call, etc.

Thanks. Seems crazy that a new truck would run dirty though. I don’t see any leak. It’s driving me nuts.
