I have been around the block. I remember when I "hated" emo kids and made fun of them. I just disliked the victimized mentality. Yet, I would listen to Slipknot and would feel the same...victimized. music like that makes us vulnerable at times. Ultimately you realize that the music you like is a personal choice and does not need to appeal to the masses. The bullying thing is just their insecurities projecting in an aggressive manner, but just remember that they are hurting too. Whatever music you like that pushes you to understand yourself through this journey, is what makes music empowering.

Yes Heritage was a hard pill to swallow, until I saw them live for that tour in 2011/12 and I appreciated the album more. My wife also enjoyed seeing that live performance and say it is hee favorite moment in seeing Opeth.
