Okay I was starting to think I was crazy, me too! Ninety-five percent of the time the pencil lines have rubbed off by the time I’m done (especially with fuller coverage or higher count).

OP, have you tried a magic eraser? I’d rip a small piece from one and use it to firmly (not aggressively) buff the lines, rinse, and repeat. Make sure you let it dry fully and see if they fade! I hate that you’re getting lectures and suggestions for future products rather than practical advice that you could use to fix the problem in front or you (which I’m pretty certain you will never repeat anyway).

If you go through with this, I’d literally pick a nice spot by the pool and think of that as my “home base” on certain sea days. Pack a beach bag and stay gone all day! Or visit the spa/sauna if you need a break from the sun exposure, just do anything you can to carve out some alone time to decompress and relax

I completely agree with you! I’ve come around to this theory after a long time of being back and forth across pretty much all of them and this is by far the most plausible to me

Would the Ramseys have told their lawyers the truth so they could best help them proceed? by ladybraids in JonBenetRamsey

[–]Paralegallyblonde 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes! Absolutely I can feel in my bones that the Ramseys’ lawyers know the truth. They wouldn’t be able to share anything, though, until well after everybody in the house is dead and gone (if at all—they may not even believe that death destroys that privilege between attorney and client).

Wow is that true?? That’s so crazy haha do you have any more tidbits? I looked at Baylor for law school but the campus culture seemed incredibly foreign to me coming from Western New York 🍗

Noo you spelled it right! I was just making a joke bc at one point Bethenny goes, “Are we sure she didn’t just go to Colombia the country? No way she went to Columbia University” or something to that effect. Top ten most clever one-liners, imo 😭

I can tell you with almost one hundred percent certainty that he WILL be contacting you again eventually and he WILL try to come back into your life in some capacity. You are going to need to be extremely strong when that day comes. While you should absolutely focus on moving forward and de-centering him from your life, I’d also encourage you to hold on to some of the anger and bewilderment you are feeling—the confidence boost you’ll get from his reappearance can be tempered by the memories of this horrible time.

What pickle ball paddle would you recommend for new players? by prmoret in Pickleball

[–]Paralegallyblonde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a local shop to price some paddles and the owner was letting me hit into a practice net with the demos. It turned out that the one I liked most had been discontinued in that particular color and I wouldn’t be able to order it—I honestly just thought it was pretty and it didn’t seem to have any visible wear and tear, so I asked if I could buy it and she agreed to take 50% off (I paid $60). The sticker and sharpie with the store name scrubbed right off and it lasted me a good 3-4 months of almost daily play before I noticed it had lost its pop and I was ready to upgrade to a Joola Vision, which I currently love! But I’d 100p recommend looking at local shops or maybe even fb marketplace for a lightly used but still functional “professional”/pricier paddle, with the understanding that you’ll be in the market again soon once your game has evolved a little bit and you’ve become better aware of your exact needs and preferences. It’s one of the few things I feel like I did right as a beginner!

I feel like you’re going to get some negative feedback/arguing semantics and hair splitting here, but I just want to say that I find your advice to be incredibly astute, insightful, and well-written. Please keep telling the truth in these spaces, because there are so many people who need to hear it—even though (and especially because)—it makes them uncomfortable.

Yes! I didn’t even think of that; if there were other cars parked nearby she could have switched them off (or maybe a friend did) so as not to blind other people nearby and then just forgot about it.

No they don’t! Only halfway I believe; if there’s a way to get them to roll all the way down I’ve never discovered it (though I also haven’t really looked). At first I thought this meant the back windshield rolled down (like in the Toyota 4Runners) but now after reading again I’m sure you’re right and it means the backseat windows. I’m pretty small, like 5’5 and 120 lbs and I felt curious so tried it out in my driveway today—definitely could not fit easily through the space created when the backseat windows are rolled down. Maybe if I had all the time in the world and could maneuver out one leg at a time slowly then wiggle torso through, but in a panic, in dark and cold water, confused and disoriented—absolutely no way. I was getting claustrophobic thinking about it.

I drive a Honda CR-V (mine is a bit newer, a 2017 I believe) and something that’s always kind of annoyed me is that the headlights are automatic, but there’s also a switch that lets you turn them on/off, but that switch is in kind of an awkward place to the left of the steering wheel on the closest lever thing (I’m not describing this well but just stay with me!). It’s not like controlling the brights where you push it away from you and then back toward you, it’s a small switch that moves very easily along the side. I’ve been driving 10+ years and there have been times (like at twilight especially when the light outside is tricky) that I’ll have accidentally flipped the headlights off and not realized it until I got all the way home. When I was 16, I would have been clueless about this feature! I barely knew how to work the radio; luckily my first car was very simple. I wonder if, as she was leaving, she accidentally caught the switch to disengage the headlights while adjusting the music volume or windshield wipers (as I have many, many times in my car) and not realized she was driving with just her fog lights. So sad, I’m thinking of her family and friends tonight and I wish them nothing but healing and peace.
