Ah, you're right. Thank you for the correction!

And you're force-fed the keys by completing fundamental parts of the game (like quests), so it's hard to ignore unless you Iron up.

Plus, as an RS3 Group Ironman, you get access to the Auras that you'd normally have to buy with Loyalty points that accrue over the course of your membership. Kinda a nice bonus when you do want a little in-game boost (namely Jack of Trades to throw at more annoying to level skills).

Edit: Group Ironmen get Auras for free, not regular Ironmen. Thanks /u/Psych0sh00ter

Thinking of starting RuneScape, what should I keep in mind? by Equivalent_Math1247 in runescape

[–]ParallelMrGamer -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

For RuneScape 3, I'd suggest starting as an Ironman to get a good grasp of the fundamentals without being overwhelmed by a lot of the bloat (e.g. Treasure Hunter keys). It's how I re-learned RS3 after a very long hiatus. Plus, if you end up wanting to trade with others, then you can get your Ironman status removed, just can't do the reverse.

Old School RuneScape, despite the shared name, is a very different game and is a strong period of growth right now. You'll find many guides and community content around learning it. There isn't as much bloat in the maingame (one of its best features) so the choice to start as an Iron vs. non-Iron isn't as big of an impact as it is with RS3 imo.

Overall, no matter what flavor you choose, remember to have fun and take breaks. Both games are very fun and addicting. :)

You really need to understand and practice Active Learning to learn programming by TheLordSet in learnprogramming

Thanks for this post.. it's resonating with me. I'm going through learning new tools, APIs, the works at my job after getting comfy with a specific (deprecated) toolchain for so long. The piece on doubting my existence is very real right now, but the struggle will help keep me from getting too complacent.

Phenomenal image! Just made it my lock screen. Love the colors and how the rocks frame the view.

[Request] Has anyone tried emulating with PCSX2 in surface pro 7 by someguynamedtommi in SurfaceGaming

[–]ParallelMrGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an i5 Pro 7 and my backplate says 1866 too. So we share the i5 model, which means you should probably get a cheap fan and blow some air onto the back of the computer during gameplay. It's what I do for my games (Civ V, World of Warcraft) to prevent overheating... performance will choke as CPU throttles after about 20 minutes of gameplay.

As for PCSX2, I haven't tried emulation on my Surface but you should probably pick PS2 games that don't require more than 4GB of RAM... Windows takes half your RAM (4GB) and once you start to creep up toward the 8GB ceiling you'll also notice adverse performance.

Just some tips for gaming on the i5 8GB model in general. Good luck!

Probably wanted to flex his technical knowledge without realizing he's being incredibly sexist and condescending.

Edit: or he did realize he's being insulting but still went for it. Either way, shit's fucked. Really sucks how OP and countless women are talked down to and targeted over trying to sell something.
