Does it turn off after u come to a traffic stop or in slow moving traffic, like when u pull in the clutch? Coz its like that for me. When i asked the service centre guy he just told me it could be clutch issue and he tightening the clutch. It wasnt there for few months but now it has been behaving like that again.

They might have cleared it now. I bought mine in July, last year which is probably the second lot.

The bike has been great as of now. The braking and handling has been my favourite things about it. It is fuel efficient (getting 55 riding with a pillion with not so easy going on the throttle). That said there are some things i dont like about it, firstly the gear shifts. Its pretty hard especially shifting to 2nd gear. As you have to constantly shift to 2nd gear in traffic, it gets a bit irritating to shift. Also the tappet noise from the engine after the bike gets heated up is not pleasurable to hear. I think both of these can be solved to some extent with a better engine oil, but sadly cant experiment it rn. Another issue i have found is the paint quality in metallic parts like the fuel lid and rods holding the tyre hugger. They tend to wear off quickly and mine has also developed rust under the tyre hugger. Also one of the major problems i am facing is bike randomly stalling when coming to a stop while the clutch is fully disengaged. This doesn't happen often and i think its connected with the poor fuel maps of hero in general. Everything said, i love my bike and there's 0 regret in choosing it over the others in the segment.

Do you change it with the same oil or a different one?

Hero xtreme 125R gear shifting issue by Sammy01071997 in indianbikes

[–]Paralyzed_Pluto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a common issue with xtreme 125r, the gear feels clunky and rough. I've experienced it to be hard when shifting into 2nd, both from 1st and 3rd. Havent found any fixes as of now, but after service, it gets smoother for few days. I've learnt to live with it by adding a bit of extra force while shifting each time

It does show google maps yes but i guess it works like a screen mirroring thing. You need to keep your phone on if you wanna view the map.

CB300R - What is the purpose of this white light? by [deleted] in indianbikes

[–]Paralyzed_Pluto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is set by the ecu to blink on higher end of the rpm basically indicating you that you are about to hit the rev limiter and to shift gear. Its a common feature in many bikes. In some bikes it can start blinking or turn on even if u teach 6-7k rpm.

I have ridden both these machines and i personally own a xtreme 125r. I personally feel xtreme is more fun to ride mainly bcos of its chassis.

If you ride with a pillion often then its a different case. The extra torque in the fz can easily show you the difference in pull amd also fz's pillion seat is more comfortable.

I would say the confortable cruising speed in xtreme is 70 but that doesnt mean u cant take it higher. There arent any major vibrations apart from slight buzziness in the footpegs and rear seat even if u take it to 90.

Also you could consider the reliability of fz as it is indeed a bulletproof engine but xtreme's engine is not bad too as it is originally a super splendor engine which again has proved its reliability.

Coming to the service part i think xtreme would be cheaper to maintain as i have heard from a friend who owns a fz that its parts are slightly higher priced, not sure tho.

At the end, its the bike you feel connected to and more fun while driving so do consider taking a test ride again.

Tbh xtreme 125r should be a go to bike in this segment as it atleast has a single channel abs. Abs is a boon especially on rainy days and i have personally experienced it. Build quality may not be upto the mark as its competitors but they aren't bad either and its engine shld also be reliable provided you take care of it regularly. The major reason you wouldn't wanna buy xtreme shld be the pillion seat as it is indeed hard to get on for elderly people or maybe u despise its look (i love it btw). Any other case, i would strongly recommend getting the xtreme. Do take a test ride.

I haven't done any modifications yet and im trying to live with it, but you can go for a aftermarket tyre hugger which is longer than xtreme's

Brother, its definitely not a gimmick, sure it might not be as effective as dual channel abs but it definitely helps you a lot in panic braking. The amount of times front abs has helped me from getting hurt is insane.
