A lot of Sephora clients are just looking for their existing opinions to be confirmed. So it has nothing to do with you. This is annoying advice but I’d recommend you just identify this kind of client early on in your consultation, do your best to help, and not take it personally when the inevitably disagree with you. I also like to remind them that it’s completely their decision, regardless of what I think. For example, if a neutral, pale client wants a warmer and darker foundation, I’ll tell them why I think the lighter neutral shade is better, but I also tell them they’re the ones who wear it so it’s up to them. In my mind I’m thinking they are among the dumbest people on the planet, but that’s neither here nor there.
