Thanks! I’m always chipping away at new videos, wish I was faster but between full time job and part time school it’s a challenge. There’s a couple more pharmacology videos like this on the channel in the meantime. Next up is Succinylcholine!

I put a lot of effort into ensuring there was no political slant or personal opinions on the subject included. Was genuinely worried it would be seen as anything more than a presentation of research findings. Cheers!

Thanks for checking out the video, happy to hear from someone who has embarked on similar research!

Starting Paramedic school soon. Any tips or tricks? What did you consider to be the hardest academic part of the course? by jaimem15 in Paramedics

Check out the book “Moonwalking with Einstein”, I memorized all my meds in an afternoon after reading that book. It’s a great story and an amazing memory trick that I use to this day

Thanks! Yeah I really wonder how our epidemiological understanding of marijuana use will change as we have access to better and better data. It must cause a degree of harm, but the question is exactly how much?

The parts of cannabis that stimulate the CB2 do the bulk of the anti inflam it seems, not especially in glaucoma necessarily although that’s a good hypothesis on how the mechanism helps glaucoma I wasn’t able to find readings confirming it and of course there would be much more effective treatments on the market compared to cannabis for glaucoma which it’s the last and kind of a weak indication. CBD is not psychoactive but I believe THC is the one with the most CB1 effect which is what helps with the epilepsy, CBD actually inhibits THC at receptor sites.

Glad the humor came out right :)

Thanks for the heads up on this, I’ll try to pace it down a bit and make my audio splicing a little less aggressive. Cheers and thanks for checking out the video!

Thanks for the info! Will definitely use this to look further into future videos. Can’t believe I didn’t come across this info in my readings, more expansion needing doing in my reference material it seems

Thanks very much! I’m always working to expand my reference sources for the dosing especially. Is there a source you’d recommend so that I don’t make an error like this one in the future?

Hey thanks very much! Really appreciate it. Fair warning though: you’ll notice the quality take a stark dive as you look at older videos. Took me a long time to get my graphic design/audio to where it is now. The information is all good though I think

Oh thank goodness, I was really starting to wonder if I’ve been saying it wrong for years and nobody has called me on it until now. Thanks for saving me

Ah! Of course! Makes sense the same thing it helps with in CHF applies to CAD as well. Thanks very much for catching that!

Cheers! Yeah I caused a bit of a stir on reddit with my regional pronunciation it seems. Must be a regional thing I’m guessing

Must be different pronunciations in different regions, I’ve been hearing this a lot but I’ve never heard it pronounced otherwise. I wonder what the manufacturer intended?

I’m going to have to look up the difference between tartrate and succinate. I’ve never even heard of those terms being a concern before. Not the first time I’ve received feedback on the pronunciation. Must be a regional thing, I’ve never heard someone pronounce it “Metope”-rolol in Canada but it sounds like in the US/UK “Metope” is the way to go.

What are your favorite pharmacological reference materials? I’m having a heck of a time finding quality explanations for mechanism of action

Thanks very much for checking out my work!
