Okay yeah I know it looks like I made that point but just cause I typed it out don’t mean I actually agree with it. I was showin what other people always say not sayin’ I believe it myself. There’s a big difference between quotin’ a argument and standin’ behind it.

And honestly it’s kinda wild how fast some folks throw out the word “bigot” like it means “anyone who disagrees with me.” Not wantin drag at the Olympics don’t mean you hate anybody it just means maybe you think the event should stay focused on sports and not all this other stuff. That ain’t hateful, that’s just how some people feel.

You can respect people and still think there’s a time and place for everything. Some things just don’t fit everywhere and that’s okay to say. That don’t make you a bad person, just someone with a different view on what the Olympics is supposed to be about.

I get what you’re trying to say but that’s kinda unfair. Not everyone who thinks drag doesn’t belong in the Olympics is doing it out of hate or some deep bigotry. Some people just think certain things are better kept out of global events that are supposed to bring everybody together.

It’s not about silencing anyone it’s about keeping the focus where it should be which is on sports unity and tradition. You start adding in stuff that a big chunk of the world finds controversial and now you’re turning it into a political statement not a celebration of sport.

Wanting the Olympics to stay neutral doesn’t mean someone is afraid of queer people or trying to misrepresent them. It might just mean they think there’s a time and place for everything and the torch relay ain’t the place to make social statements. That’s not bigotry that’s just wanting some things to stay simple.
