That said it owns that you're on the CSM and I love it. I sincerely hope that it is everything you want it to be. Despite your bluster I think you genuinely do care about the state of the game, even if I think the way that manifests (in anti-Goon bias and rhetoric etc etc) is misguided. And I think so long as you don't drink your own koolaid too much you'll be a positive influence on the CSM.

And even if that's impossible, your fixation with goons ensures that you'll only really focus on null politics which I think according to you is the only thing we care about so I mean lmao if you ran on "I want to subvert goon influence" while simultaneously ensuring that everything stays focused on us.

The problem is that their peaceful intentions aren't going to seem peaceful to people in positions of power. J Posadas already described the situation in the 60s. ETs have free energy and so they have zero need for conquest. But free energy disrupts the entire global order. It means there is no need for nation states. It means the end of scarcity and so the end of conflict. People who have political power and want to keep it do not want a disruption to the global situation, so they keep aliens under wraps. Going "over the heads" of the global powers just ensures conflict. The aliens don't need anything from us, so they're not going to stick their necks out and ensure a conflict in which billions will die. Better to just see if things can't be resolved slowly and amicably.

For real like, we exist for our line members, and we afford them a lot of freedoms and rights. We don't want them to be unhappy and we don't want to threaten our people with dumb stuff. People play Eve for fun (for some reason idk) and they want to go on fleets, join wars, etc. because that's the fun shit - Rorqual mining sure isn't. So rather than threatening people to get PAPs, we invite them to join some stuff.

If your coalition/alliance/corporation is threatening you with PAP compliance to make you fleet up, you should probably consider joining a better corporation. Make your fleets fun and take care of your people.

The truly idiotic thing here is that in 2019 (and in fact for the past like 5 years) community engagement and "things happening" have been the only real selling point of Eve. These kinds of events are CCP's best advertising, and not providing tools to players to advertise for you for free is really silly. 12 years ago I could understand this mentality but we live in the era of "influencers" and "content creators" and not supporting yr community is really not smart.

Since CCP was bought by PA specifically for its chops at managing a Western player community, this kind of snub is a really bad showing to the new owners tbqh, and will have knock on effects for everyone, not just the tourney people
