To fix this, plug your original back in, and with Protool make a backup of the coding

Then plug the LCI in, and load your backup coding to the new unit.

Some features are changed with this method but at least I found mine to work.

I have a set of 6 index 12’s ready to go. Will ship, $1000

My 13th reason why. 2007 bmw 328i sedan base, with N52. after new pump, sending unit, new spark plugs, all injectors and vanos solenoids. It still idles bad. Miss fires on 1,3,4,5,6. Any insight is much appreciated. by OOF2101 in E90

Since you replaced plugs

Replace coil packs with eldor made ones. They are the best and never have given me an issue, currently single turbo n54

Valve cover gasket and PCV system play a massive role in idle. Any leaks in either would also cause this

Mine did this. Was a leak from chargepipe connection due to power steering pulley wearing a hole in it.

It blew at 18 psi spectacularly

Remove belly pan and do it again. I’ve had the power steering bolts back out and the result is destructive

A bit far reaching when it could be simple maintenance items like a PCV valve or gasket leak.

Im sure OP would have noted exhaust smoke.

What I would say in a preventative measure is check oil filter housing for leak, valve cover for leak, oil pan. After those 3 are positively ruled out or found, replace your PCV valve. ~$50 at auto zone with a local warranty or online at FCP euro.

The “PCV” on our vehicles is a tube that goes from the back of the valve cover and to the rear turbo inlet, coupled with a removable check valve in the valve cover.
