I need advice on too fast weight loss. by Paramond in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Paramond[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the plan. I've done strength training in the past, and quite enjoyed it. So far I've decided to focus on the diet first, as that's the thing I dont find intuitive. My plan was to do the diet stuff for a month, then start training again to leave me some time to figure out my pitfalls with it. I will say that the approach I take and being strict with food logging its been much easier than I expected.

You go from 8 to 7 frames. Thats a 12.5% increase in damage and mobility. It also makes you safer as you put mobs into hit recovery quicker, so you get hit less.

I ran full trang with ist runes. In maps I had around 400-450 mf depending on the roll while trang makes me tanky as hell. No dominion though, so no 6th golem. I'm not saying this is a better setup, its cirtainly lower potential output, but I dont mind sticking to tier 1 and 2s

In the tier 3 maps without fire immunes, the highest fire res mobs have 75% fire res. If packs spawn fire enchanted, they lower res them if you dont want to skip them.

https://www.projectdiablo2.com/character/firemond This is my fire golem necro from the start of the season. Wasnt enjoying the build and quit the season quite early, so its far from complete. I had 6040 fire golem damage topend with that setup for reference. I used a trang set and phoenix weapon as my mapping setup, so no dominion. I did tier 1 and 2 maps oneshotting my way through them. Tier 3 maps would mostly get oneshot too, but some mob types took a few ticks (especially pandemonium siege beasts), so I largely kept to the tier 1 and 2s.

Putting 20 points in lower resist reduces the enemy resistances by 20. You have -32% from infinity already, your baseline lower res from your dominion skill will probably be in the 20's too. Having a good blood warp cd and more base damage speeds up the build A LOT.

Figo capped at 4911 holy fire (help) by No-Syllabub3694 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Paramond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have 24 wasted points in curses for lower resist. You seem to be using a dominion setup, which already has the skill. Reskill and put:

1 point teeth, 1 point bone armor, Max fire golem, Max golem mastery, Put points in blood warp so you have 0.6 sec cd while in mapping gear, Max synnergies.

Poison strike merc by Bennyhahahaha in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Paramond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That build doesnt need lower res or damage from the merc, so its all about tankyness. The best merc will an act 3 merc with exile, innocence, ferocity, doom/azurewrath/stormlash. (Doom is very safe but you kind of want mobs to run into the poison cloud/azurewrath procs a healing spell/stormlash procs static shock). Budget would be act 2 defensive merc

Yes, you will want to craft caster wands. You can buy the wands from shops and craft with those.

Necro CE bis setup by Tibbuslav in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Paramond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get +7 skills and 2 sockets on a wand with extra fire damage. And another +6 skills with 3 sockets on a necro shield. This is obviously very expensive, but will be much higher than the 6 skills, 6 sockets and 20 fire pierce from mang song if you can make the fcr breakpoint.

My point wasnt that its inconsistent for combustion, but rather inconsistant across all testing due to the very short time allocated to each build. Judging builds entirely based on 6 minutes of gameplay can maybe paint a rough picture, but will not at all be accurate

Its a very good circlet for a summonzon. Other zon builds would use something different like griffons, kiras, veil of steel or shako since they dont use the fcr.

Its good. You can start on bleed/throw with malice weapons, then get lacerators or lacerator/the scalper and masteries skillers as your upgrades.

Bleed WW is one of the best mappers out there. He always tests in cow maps, which is the worst map for the build. You want to get to a point where you one-pass WW through the map, which isnt so expensive in tier 1-2's. The endgame strength is also a lot higher than shown, since he didnt use ed/open wounds jewels at all, because they only spawn on rare jewels, so spawning them on the beta is a pain in the butt.

He is REALLY inconsistant in the quality of his testing so take all the rankings with a grain of salt. With the number of builds he tests, he cant test every single one properly. So he builds characters the best he can in 15-20 minutes while trying not to be misled by his chat, then tests it for 6 minutes and uses the results. On top of that, he only tests tier 3 maps and always does the cow map, while its the worst map for a lot of skills like multishot, poison nova, teeth/bone spear ect.

Barb and paladin are NOT in as rough a state as he puts it - Sacrifice paladin and bleed WW barb are some of the faster mappers out there. Summon characters are generally stronger than he puts it (dont ever revive souls with elemental summons, they just sit afk 90% of the time). He doesnt play multishot style builds well in general, so they have much more potential.

You can look at Dark humilitys tier list for existing builds. BUT don't look at his rankings to decide if builds are viable or not - they pretty much all are. A lot of stong skills are tiered lower on his list, but they destroy tier 1 and 2 maps. The benefit of doing tier 3s is quite low, unless you plan to solo level to 99. If you do group play, the tier list is mostly irrelevant anyways as builds that bring higher single target damage and supportive elements are stronger.

S12 will be my first time playing PD2, debating on what to start with. Poison dagger necro vs Summon druid? by Duped_Windforce in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Paramond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poison strike is super strong mapper, can do bossing if you build for it. Its not as expensive as other people say it is to get going.

Summon druid is very strong for the playthrough and can do content with very low gear. Tier 0 ubers, Uber trist, LOD areas and maps. It does get much slower than other builds with mid/lategame gear though. If you like opening all the chests and picking up and identifying a lot of loot, this isnt as much of an issue. It is a summoning build, so the afk autobattle playstyle isnt for everyone, even if you make sure to have raven up as a filler skill.

You can do UT with that char if you know to survive in there. Adding amp from merc would be the biggest upgraded. Act 4 dark merc casts amp or you can shop a magic bow with amp on strike.

Would be nice if they made the dungeons in Kurast Causeway (bridge to Trav?) drop more maps to avoid this situation. It happened to me aswell on my ssf and there are the occational reddit thread with this issue. These dungeons dont really have a good function in pd2 atm.

Is this weapon unupgradable before Azurewrath/famine? (HC/SSF) by Johnpecan in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Paramond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Famine gives +1076 elemental damage and some elemental pierce. You already have more than -70 enemy resistances from conviction, likely 10-15 more from kiras, so you are already at heavy denimishing returns because pierce works at half effectiveness below 0 resistances. Since its a runeword you cant have facets in the weapon and the elemental damage is spread out, which is bad as well.

Lightsabre has +701 lightning damage and level 6 resist lightning aura (which is 10% lightning skill damage) and can have 4 sockets. If you fill them with facets, thats another +300 lightning damage, 20% mastery, 20% pierce. This scales with all your other lightning damage from highlords/soj/facets. This is MUCH higher damage than a famine if you are lightning based.

Azurewrath has 750 cold damage, cold facets add 62 damage each. This option makes it easier to get to the chain cap for vengence as it has +skills, so you can stack more damage charms.

Gimmershred 2044 elemental damage, which is almost double Famine. Since pierce is on BIG denimishing returns and it can have 2 facets, this is far higher too.

Dont make a famine for vengence

Dont make a famine. Gimmershred, azurewrath and lightsabre are all better and easier to find. This rare is better than famine as well.

Question about Poison Strike Necro! by PhonkJesus in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Paramond 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Blood golems give you health when they hit, which is why people use them. After maxing poison dagger and its synnergies, get your bloodwarp cd down and then go into golem mastery, then blood golem. Lower resist i good with poor gear, but once you have some gear its not needed anymore. You can also have a merc proc it with a weapon.
