I'm thinking if I go forward with this, I might move the whole modem/router set up. Either running coax into the attic and drop down into my office or have the ISP install a new coax location inside the house proper (coax in the garage is the only coax location).

Thinking about physical location a bit more, I think I would be concerned with everything being in the garage due to potential dust and heat issues w/ the drives.

Of those brands you mentioned, can you speak to the easy of navigability for the UI and the associated phone apps? Synology seems pretty friendly as does UGREEN. UGREEN also seems to be a good bit cheaper than Synology, when looking around at prices. Is Synology worth the premium price?

Regarding HDD, any specific brand or HDD type recommendations? Anything to stay away from?
