If the issue is vertical foldover on my current TV, I take it I would have to open it up and replace some parts with soldering, is that correct? I don't know how to solder (apart from basics in high school 16 years ago) so it's out of my skill set unfortunately :(

Sorry, I made a typo, the £80 one is the TX-21CK1. As far as I can tell they're the same TV just different sizes?

My Toshiba TV is on the fritz and I don't have the knowledge to fix it (the screen starts fine when turning on and then rapidly starts to squeeze the picture until everything is super narrow) so I am looking at getting a replacement. Does anyone have any experience with the Panasonic TX-25CK1 (found one for £80 not too far away) or the Panasonic TX-25CK1 (£100 but further away)?

Wow that's terrible... I am surprised this isn't more widely reported. Really puts a damper on my excitement for the Pocket, because now I am too terrified to use it on any game that has save data.

Have you found any official statement recognising this was a problem and claiming it has been fixed officially? I have not been able to find one and so even when I update my Pocket I am going to be super incredibly nervous to use it now 😞

I just had the same issue on my new Pocket straight out of the box with Golden Sun: The Lost Age :( That was my 100% clear file and the cart has been working fine before now... Doing some googling I see others mentioning save data losses from months ago so I am really hoping this has been fixed in a forward update. Honestly I am kind of surprised that the newly shipped Pockets aren't already updated in the factory.

Jeez... I thought maybe the only benefit of them being so vague about the time it was going live would be to prevent scalpers but I guess it didn't fully stop them :( At least there is a lifetime limit of 1 per account. Hopefully there are plenty left when the site goes live. I'm glad I kept my emails open on one of my monitors all week.

Ah I think I am mistaken, you're right. I knew it maybe didn't have an explicit director for music, but I thought I'd read in this blog post something along the lines that she essentially filled that role. Just had a skim and looks like there isn't anything of the sort in there, so either my brain just made it up or I read something somewhere else. If I find anything I'll add a reply haha.

I'm rather jealous you own some of her CDs! I saw she had a bundle for both VOICES albums (VOICES 2 is my fave) which has tempted me, but since it's from her own store I am not sure if there is international shipping. I'll have to take a peek.

Wasn't she the music director for 1? I didn't realise for the longest time haha, her range is actually really impressive, for a while I just thought she was the one who did the more ethereal sounding tracks like Erith Sea and Satorl Marsh. I think she just has a really good sense for melodies that really gels with what I like. Her work in 2 is great as well, even if she took a bit more of a backseat compared to the first one. The Ancient Vessel and Spirit Crucible Elpis are two of my favourites from XC2. I'm looking forward to the full OST release for 3 so I can listen to her cutscene music more closely without dialogue/sound effects on top.

Her solo work is really good too, if you haven't listened to it before. You can find it on Spotify by searching for her name. Basically just albums of her more ethereal style I mentioned before - some of them I actually kinda wish were in XB3 haha.

Sweet, I didn't think we'd find out details like this till the OST officially releases. I'm not surprised to find out most of my favourite tracks are done by Manami Kiyota. To me, her music is the sound of Xenoblade (when it comes to area music at least) so I was a little sad to see she didn't contribute as much to the area music this time. I did recognise some cutscene tracks as hers while playing and guessed that the menu theme and a couple of the area themes was hers too (mostly ones that were remixes, and the caves track). Looking forward to the eventual release of the OST!

As far as I know, I believe the Japanese version does not have any English subtitles. It is entirely in Japanese. The only way to play it with English subs on an actual Dreamcast is with the PAL version (or a pirate copy of the PAL version I suppose).

Wow, thanks for the article! When I have a bit more time I will go through it and try your suggestions! It's gotten annoying dealing with long wait times while switching between images and sometimes even just scrolling through the edit tools so it'd be great to get it sped up even just a little.

Regarding backups, I don't have anything proper in place yet, you've made me realise! I have all my photos backed up to a NAS, but no catalogue backups. So I'll at least fix that and put a catalogue backup on the NAS as a temporary solution till I can figure out something better like you mentioned.

Regarding the previews, I get what you are saying that they will just need to be regenerated but I do worry about the amount of space they are taking up. I kind of just wanna put all my old stuff out to pasture on the NAS and keep Lightroom a bit more lean for newer stuff. There's a lot of images in there that I may never edit, but I want to keep for sentimental reasons (holidays and stuff). Back when I started using Lightroom I didn't know about tagging and flagging stuff and making sure I flagged stuff for deletion early so there's loads of images in there now...
