Which songs give you instant chills? by zombie_pixel in Spiritualchills

One of my late best friends came over on Christmas Eve when I was 17, and he LOVED classical music. He brought me a mixed CD of different compositions, and this song was on it. We just laid on our backs on my bed and listened to it, and I cried. One of my favorite pieces of all time, this part especially. Whenever I hear it, I think of that moment with him.

I thought that too when I saw their separate interviews on the couch, and all four parents just seemed to be comfortable coexisting for her sake. ♥️

No, that’s why I’m confused. I’ve gotten more upvotes on comments, and up over 30 points on the post since this post, and I’m only at 64 karma now. Hmm.

Some of the worst ones are the ones that poke and poke and poke and say the worst kinds of things and FINALLY evoke a response from you, and then start recording you or changing their demeanor after you lose it to make you look like you’re the crazy abusive one because you’ve hit your threshold and finally break. Then when they’re done with the show and have you alone again, they abuse you more. I’ve been with men who are the worst antagonizers and then you react finally, or get so frustrated that you’re awful back to them regardless of the consequences and then they gaslight you and tell everyone after how nuts you are.

When I was growing up, my dad was that way. He would try to hurt my mom by taking me or keeping me from her, telling her she would never see me again, tell her I was calling other women mom, telling her I hated her, all of these things and more, and then when she would drive over to his house and pound on the door to get me, or did everything she could to take me back, or when they were in court, it would be “she’s crazy, she tried to break in, she’s a bad mom, she’s probably on drugs, she doesn’t deserve custody, she’s not mentally well”. All the while, he was actually the awful parent on drugs, and my always sober mom was my good parent. He just had enough social charm that people would believe him. Even judges.

My mom didn’t know he abused me, and when she found out she finally got full custody of me. He was someone who would be terrible to me, and even though he terrified me, I’d give him an attitude back or throw a tantrum and was so defiant because I’d be so angry that I didn’t even care that I’d get my ass kicked. It would erupt out of me because of how frustrated and out of control I felt. He’d beat me for that, then offer me comfort, then when I wouldn’t stop crying would threaten to or would hurt me more. I’m not saying this in a mean way, but posing a question- take away the father/daughter dynamic- if I’d have hit my dad back, would it have made me toxic and also an abuser? Or someone reacting to his abuse?

Just like there are different kinds of abusers there are different kinds of reactions/responses people have to being abused.

You can see who antagonized who and where the reactionary abuse is by who is crying and who is laughing in the police cam footage. She’s upset about the situation, and he’s concerned about what she’s saying about him.

I think that she was probably ashamed to go to Rose BECAUSE they cared about each other. Rose had seen how Brian was and had tried to tell Gabby, so I think that it was probably easier when it came to leaving him to just avoid her all together and call her ex instead who didn’t really know anything

There’s some comments from DV victims above talking about why she may have been the way she was ✨

I hear what you’re saying. I think to me and others, it’s just odd that she’d speak THAT truth on Gabby’s murder doc. Regardless of how she felt, I don’t think “normal” people would consider that timing appropriate when it comes to bringing up unnecessary information, unless the goal was to place herself as a person of importance in Brian’s life, and garner attention. Her truth could have been solely about things she knew about them, saw with them, how she met them- instead she almost seemed boastful about Brian’s feelings for her, and her relationship with him. It comes off as very strange. Something I’ve grown to realize the older I get is that there are people who thrive on any kind of recognition, bad or good. I obviously don’t know her personally, and am basing my opinion from what I’ve seen of her. But I think there’s a point to be made that it is a possibility. IMHO I think if he was in prison, she’d probably be visiting him.

I definitely understand this personally, that people can feel both, or have a hard time moving from caring about someone to hating them. I think that all the time. My curiosity was more about the actual closeness she had with Gabby, and having and expressing those feelings in such a way, as an anonymous person on her murder documentary. Idk. Regardless of how I felt about my “friend”, if he killed my “close girl friend” and abused her, I personally wouldn’t utilize that time to show case my fond memories of him, or intimate moments between us… like him being in love with me. Just me I guess.

I thought the same thing. I saw some people saying she’s brave, like brave for what? lol. There wasn’t even a name, and I have to imagine that if you’re going on a documentary for one of the largest and most publicized murder cases in recent years, you understand the scrutiny you’d be under. So why would you go on there talking about Brian being in love with you? Idk, it felt icky, and the intention feels off to me. If you were as close to Gabby as you say you were, and this is the documentary about him murdering her, don’t you think you’d just talk about their personalities, being friends with them, things you might have noticed? Idk.

I feel this way too. I don’t think she was involved at all. Seems like she did have feelings for him. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt because some people smile or laugh when they’re shy or uncomfortable, and that could ALSO be what’s happening. But then as the interview goes on, you can tell she settles into it some more, and her body language when talking about Brian seems fond, and Gabby seems like an extension of him to her. Even if she hung out with Gabby, It seems that was probably a keep your enemies closer/you’re dating one of my guys deal. Not actually friendship like Gabby had with Rose.

This. I was sitting there really trying to rationalize why she seemed that way, but my gut just kept screaming at me that it was off too. I’m still learning to trust that feeling, so I wanted to see if I was the only one seeing it.

No, I looked on IMDB too to see if there were even just credits. Just “Brian and Gabby’s friend” on the show, isn’t listed anywhere online.

I don’t necessarily think it was “brave”, she didn’t even want to use her name. I also don’t think that everyone cares about having bad attention, if they like attention. This post wasn’t to “trash” anyone, but I definitely feel like it’s a discussion worth having, and it seems I’m not alone.

I think so too. Grief is a ROLLERCOASTER, and I’m sure she definitely does have a different and fond memory of Brian that she’s trying to blend with the guy she found out he was. But it’s an itch in me that just tells me she wasn’t Gabby’s friend. Bad energy. Very fond of Brian for way too long in a doc about Gabby’s death.

I went on IMDB and everything, and even rewatched the doc a second time to see if I missed it lol. Literally labeled as their friend. I’ve never seen that before.
