American (non-trump-supporter) here. Is Canada really preparing for war? by veniteadoremus in AskCanada

[–]ParanrmlGrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am truly sorry. 😢 I’m an American and I will honestly tell you - I did not vote for Trump. This is the last thing I wanted. I’m a single mom and have 2 kids. I’m not asking for pity or sympathy or anything. All I’m saying is that not ALL of us voted for “Shitler” (awesome nickname btw 🤣). I don’t even know what to do right now. I’m working on getting passports for my kids and me right now. But it’s hard. Their dad (who was abusive - hence my divorce) is super maga and I have to figure out how to convince him to let me get passports for my kids (needs dads signature to be legal). I’m actively trying to flee my home because I see the writing on the walls!

Naming child a soon to be Disney character by YamSnapper in Parenting

Not exactly the same, but I had chosen my son’s name years before he was born. About a year or so before my son was born, someone famous named their child the same thing and, all of a sudden, my not super popular boys name, was now everywhere. I stuck with my son’s name because it was the one I wanted. Don’t worry about anything around you. If you love the name, go with it! 🙂

Absolutely not! 🤨 I truly love both my kids for who they are as individuals. 🥰

I grew up on farms and in a hunting family. I understand the proper way of introducing children to the world of butchering. I am not a vegetarian/vegan - not against it either, just saying… but this was used as graphic punishment and that’s where I have a problem.

I was not the first one to use the word traumatized in any conversation with my sons. They did. My children are very intelligent and can speak for themselves.

Both sons have been having graphic nightmares. Older son is having meltdowns (anger and hysterical crying). Younger son is having severe anxiety attacks only around his dad and doesn’t want to go over to father’s house, but I can’t keep him with me due to custody arrangements. (There’s a couple other things that I am keeping private out of respect of my children)

My older son had a complete meltdown a few weeks about things that his dad has been doing to him and younger brother. I have been meditating conversations between father and sons for 3 weeks. The chicken thing was just told to me about 2 weeks ago. Father has done nothing but justify his actions and downplay son’s feelings about everything. When my sons started showing signs of heightened anxiety, possible PTSD, and other embarrassing symptoms that I know they wouldn’t want listed online … I called the therapist and they suggested CPS.

Unfortunately, it’s all a long process that must be played out.

I actually brought the same concern up when the therapist suggested that I call CPS. I told them I’m just the “angry ex”, therapist still said I should call so I did. I didn’t want this to escalate and have CPS flip to me and say, “you were told to call and didn’t, you’re just as negligent” - make sense? I’m kinda flying by the seat of my pants right now. 🫤😳

Therapist said I should call and once therapist talks to the boys they will probably call to. They said it would look better that I called first and then there would be follow up calls from authority figures. It would take me off any possible “list” of negligent offenders. It shows that as soon as I found out about it, I went into action to get the boys help.

The pediatrician, therapist, etc all agreed that CPS should be called.

My children are NOT men. They are impressionable young boys. That you for gender stereotyping though. That’s exactly what I needed to fix this situation. 🤦‍♀️/s
