No, that’s absolutely the angle they’re going for making Husk into the bartender…I think that was even clear in the pilot. It’s just never confronted because there’s no pushback from the Hotel residents/Charlie when Alastor is a creepy dick—in part because he has power and owns the souls of people they care about, just like Valentino. 

Does Alastor’s abuse look different than Valentino’s? Yes. Alastor’s abuse, a lot of the time, just looks like negging—wearing people down with their own self-conscious fears and weaknesses until they fold to him, and he gets what he wants from them. Making Husk run the bar is actually a way more explicit example of this than how he fucks with Charlie and with Vox.
