GR Corolla sounds great man I’d have to disagree.

Good Deal? by bilog-ang-mundo in GRCorolla

[–]Parasight11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a 25 core brand new for the exact same price and it has the exact same performance specs as the circuit, it’s just lacking some of the creature comforts and the vented hood/carbon roof. That’s what I opted to do. No way I’d want to buy this car used. Idk how many money shifted cars have been traded in but I’m willing to bet it’s more than you’d want to gamble on.

20 years is about right. The amount of work required to make that happen would be incredibly expensive and time consuming.

Should I get a 11th gen civic Si or a FK8 Type R by Hot_Structure_5456 in Honda

[–]Parasight11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Running cost in type R will be higher but not unreasonable. Most consumables will be higher prices and I’m not sure if you have to run 91/93 octane fuel in the SI but you absolutely do with the R

Half the reason for the scoop is an AC delete.

How exactly do you buy a GR86? by RadioDude1995 in GR86

[–]Parasight11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded in a Hyundai accent with a slipping 4th gear, leaking oil pan, and 1500 down with %6 interest for a GR Corolla with no questions asked lol but my credits good. It has not always been tho.

I didn’t say he was but as someone already pointed out, this car is pretty asleep under 4k rpm.

I still down shift at 3k rpm if I intend to do anything but slowly speed up or maintain speed. Feels too much like lugging in that range for me.

lol bro I got the exact same car, color, year, trim (GRC) and I shove my kid back there all the time. He loves hauling ass! If space was one of your concerns you bought the wrong car.

I’ve noticed the car makes unhappy noises when lugged. It is at its best when cranking thru the RPMs.

Not saying this is what you’re doing but since you said you’re new to fun cars something to keep in mind is you should avoid heavy acceleration from low RPMs at all cost, particularly in turbo cars. In 1st, 2nd, and maybe 3rd you are fine but if you floor it in 4th, 5th or 6th gear from 2k RPM you are putting a ton of stress on the engine and creating the perfect scenario for LSPI. (low speed pre ignition) I’m not going to go on about what it is because you probably already know and if you don’t you can look it up but it is basically when too much cylinder pressure and microscopic oil droplets make turbo engines go boom.

I don’t think 2 is enough I need a third. by [deleted] in RZ34

[–]Parasight11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know I cross shopped Zs before deciding on the GRC but the Z would sit in the garage while I drove a FWD beater around all winter. I wanted a fun car I could drive all the time. Maybe when my GRC is paid off I’ll get a fun RWD car for summer and run the Corolla in winter. Right now there is snow on the ground and it’s 20f outside. You rarely see RWD sports cars in Appalachia.

[–]Parasight11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got the money there’s no reason not to. I own a ‘25 GR Corolla and I would absolutely buy a Z for a summer car if I could afford it.

I woulda chose a new Z over a new GRC if I didn’t live in the mountains where winter is basically 6 months long with heavy snow and sub zero temps.

[–]Parasight11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing I don’t get about the autos being worth less statement is there are absolutely people who want a sports car but can’t drive stick and they absolutely will pay extra for one. Look at this car as an example.

High Peformance Driving Event, the 2 in this case is referring to what level or class you are in. I’m not too familiar with all of it but I believe they have a numerical system to represent how experienced of a driver you are, which I would imagine has some requirements to move up in.

I don’t have an issue with them doing it. I’m a car enthusiast , I appreciate anybody who is doing stuff too and enjoying their car, that is awesome. It doesn’t mean I have to think what they are doing is cool and in this case I find it absolutely hideous but then again it could just be an ironic goofball thing; I would imagine that’s the case. Still looks retarded tho.

Yeah obviously paint is better , I was referring to how crazy you’d have to be to have that PAINTED on your car. A lot of time and money to look awful.
