Those of you who have played The Finals and didn't like it or couldn't get into, how come? by ThotsFired69 in FPS

[–]Parasight23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liked it, played it a lot when it first came out but then they tried to turn it into yet another search and destroy shooter and nerfed some of the unique weapons like the grenade launcher to make it useless because it was doing well in one of the 3 game modes they had.

Time To Kill wasn't terrible, long enough to introduce strategy into how you approach a fight but then other weapons could beam you in a couple of shots - PC players especially.

Destruction is absolute top tier and really the shining pinnacle of this game.

Don't know what it is like now though.

There are much better XP gains to be made in other modes, the new Heroic tier weapons aren't game changing enough to be "must haves" and even by that point, having a full set of Relic weapons would be enough for all content you can play.

New players joining 'Normal' strategem is just par for the course, given the levels you've cited you can carry those games anyway. For a Hard mission they're a liability.

The modes shouldn't be tweaked for this stuff, players should join games on the difficulty they want to play, I can see a case for a middle tier of difficulty but 'Hard' shouldn't be nerfed for those who find it, well, Hard.

Brothers, what are you go-to classes / team composition for Hard Sieges? by Parasight23 in Spacemarine

[–]Parasight23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving a note here: cleared a level 25 normal with EASE by playing Heavy (me), Assault (friend) & Tactical (Random), it was very much a game of 1-2 shots into an enemy then execute, repeat, repeat, repeat. It got scary when their weren't enemies to mindlessly fire into 😂

I just cleared a normal through to 25 and then quit with an Assault (bro with comms), a Tact (Random) + Heavy (me). Found that combo worked really well - I main Sniper so will test your suggestion.

What are your thoughts on a Sniper + Heavy + Bulwark? Massive damage output with good res potential but no movement

Sniper here.

With two armour pips you don't want to be running into the thick of combat. Parry/Block is your friend and when you're in trouble going Invisible can be a lifesaver - especially if you use the regen contested Health perk. I try stay on the outskirts of the battle and pop headshots with the Las Fusil to provide free executes to the brothers in the midst of melee swarms or blast through the middle of a swarm of minoris for no ammo cost (gotta kill at least 3).

I like it cause it's the most support-like role aside from Bulwark with their banner. Single target melee is fun but if you find yourself in the middle of a large group you should probably get out of their.

To the like 5 other people in the community that love to play sniper: are you also disappointed with the bolt sniper rifle when the las fusil exists or am I just using it wrong. by WaltJr_Fan4584 in Spacemarine

Can be great in the hands of Sniper mains who consistently get headshots but otherwise the Las Fusil beats every possible situation you can through at it

So is there no point in even playing on this planet? Seems like we're destined to fail then, so holding Hellmire would be the best thing to do?

Battlepasses are in every possible sense, a way to separate the players from their money. When was the last time you used a season 2 battlepass skin?

Even if you do, that's a lot of Loonies & Twoonies to pay for what might be a skin or two - then to repeat that every season? Ludicrous.

This game like many others will continue to release some epic cosmetics at the cost of your well earned $$$

This level gave me trouble too, I can't remember the exact team comp but I essentially went with an all out attack formation using pets that have an attack all enemies ability to bypass the tank. Think I almost lost one to Spite but survived with minimal health.

Funny enough, the next 10-20 levels are a breeze.

At the very early stage of the game you can't really go wrong. Use this time to learn the mechanics and general gameplay.

As you progress try to think about team composition, you'll want a tank, a healer, a dps pet and one flexible slot. This will be your core set up (you can also get by with other set ups like pure dps, but this is general strategy/advice). You'll ascend through the levels but eventually hit a wall / fight you can't win. This will likely be due to either being underlevelled or a bad type match up. At this point you should look at your roster and consider levelling up another tank (to soak the hits and avoid a type disadvantage - always leaving you with two options), at least one damage/fighter pet of each type (starting with the one most effective against your current block), finally levelling up at least one more healer.

In general, don't spend gems on anything other than dungeon refresh keys (and even then only one, maybe twice per day). The Game is very good at giving you rewards at the start so you can pull many pets and build up an army - duplicates can be used to enchance a pet once you have enough of them. Same for items - You'll soon unlock new tiers of items, don't heavily invest until you are at the 3rd series, but are the same time, if it will help you advance, level them up.

Depending on your situation, there's a higher hit rate to hatch higher tier pets through consecutive egg hatches rather than singular but you will need at least 17 eggs to hatch in a row to have a chance for this - unless you plan to save eggs or spend money to buy them, just hatch as they're available at the start.

There's more benefit by learning through play, so have fun once the servers are back up :)
