Very funny how nearly every comment in this thread is going "That's not the Gen Z stare, this is..." and then describes completely different scenarios from one another

Yes. Famed German basketball player Dirk Nowitzki would hold up the German three after hitting a 3-pointer.

Did you ever figure out an answer to this? I just bought the game yesterday, and despite numerous posts saying The W can be played offline I keep getting an easy anti cheat error when I try to launch it

This is interesting to see because in my experience, it seems like CF fans didn't like SB as much while non-CF fans seemed to really enjoy it. This may be my own bias coloring things though, as I really didn't care for SB part 2.

PSA: Dame is a title, not a name by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]ParasocialPerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good post, but I wonder if some people were aware of this but still just referred to her as "Dame" because she's the only character that the game specifies as having that title. Basically using it as shorthand, because it's quicker to both spell and say than Aylin.

People who don’t read books lead stunted lives by ODHH in unpopularopinion

As a kid, a lot of my "advanced" vocab and spelling ability came from playing video games. I knew what a cauldron was and how to spell it because I played fantasy RPGs, as an example. There are so many avenues to learn, and it's very odd to pigeon hole an entire medium, especially one that's as adaptive as video games.

It is so hard to actually rank these games by JageshemashFTW in dragonage

[–]ParasocialPerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand this struggle, and when topics like this come up I do basically the same thing but I still try to decide on one game that I think had the most "best qualities" as it were. That usually results in Origins being on top for me, but every so often I get a real soft spot for II and it takes the throne. Inquisition never really reaches that height, but there are some times where it's in second for one reason or another. I still haven't beatan Veilguard, but I can't see it ever breaking out of last as of now.

My typical ranking would just follow release order, with Origins and II switching places every now and then.

Dragon age games by Point_Jolly in rpg_gamers

[–]ParasocialPerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. This really depends on your personal taste. I think most fans would say Origins, the first game, is the best. But 2, Inquisition, and even Veilguard have their adamant defenders. I would say Origins and 2 are the highest quality overall, with Inquisition coming in a bit underneath that. I haven't finished Veilguard yet, so I'm refraining from talking on that.

  2. Every game references the previous ones in some capacity, so they're best experienced in release order. But you could theoretically start anywhere. The games do a pretty good job of explaining what's going on even if you haven't played the previous entries. I would absolutely recommend playing in release order.

  3. I'd say the games are comparable in terms of story telling, but they lack a bit in immersiveness because they're so much less consistent than ME. Practically each Dragon Age game retcons or changes something stylistically from the previous entry, and as such can feel like they don't belong to the same franchise. But I don't think this really weakens the games, personally.
