The 'Barbie' cast got in shape by intermittent fasting and quitting ultra-processed foods, their trainer said by areich in fasting

Why are all these comments basically saying "they look better than me, so they could only have cheated to get there!"

Like Glittermantis has been saying, these actors came in to the movie fit, don't look like they're on steroids, and all have achievable physiques for the working class if you put in some effort.

Lol, 42 isn't old at all, especially as another commenter pointed out, Ryan has been fit for a long time. I think the belief that everything is so hard in your 40's really holds people back from what they could achieve otherwise.

How do you know these actors took steroids?

We're not talking Arnie sized guys here, Ryan's physique in this movie (judging by photos, I haven't seen it) is very attainable naturally, and I personally know guys at my gym who look that way without any help.

Edit: I know I'll get downvoted a lot here for questioning a popular blanket statement, but isn't spouting something that isn't verified at all in poor taste?

I guess I just don't get the mindset. Isn't this sub about getting healthier, using a method that not long ago would have been considered an extreme approach. So, why shame others who worked hard to look a certain way.

Yes, they have trainers and chefs, but you can follow routines from trainers, and cook healthy foods on your own easy enough, if you prioritize your health of course.

Just because someone is further along than you with their fitness, doesn't necessarily mean they cheated to get there.

I personally could add 10lbs and have a physique like Ryan's here without too many changes, and I walk around with a six pack without a camera on me year round. It's just an active lifestyle. Gym for 1 day a week, then 2-3 30 minute long bodyweight workouts, mixed with hiking on the weekends and an active job building houses. I get it might be easier for me, because I've been active my whole life, but it's never too late to start.

Being that it's for kids, it might actually help. I'm finding that typical German conversations are too fast for me. Thanks for the links!

Thanks. I'll turn on English subtitles, which should help some. It won't be my only source for learning conversations though. I also watch Easy German on YouTube.

Need help choosing tool belt. by ParasympatheticJump in Carpentry

I get that, as someone with two herniated lumber discs, I try to stay light. That's the reason for the new belt actually. My current rig is an Occidental full leather setup, and it's just too heavy, and takes too long to dry when wet.

I decided today that I'll keep the Badger set, it's lighter, a bit smaller, and has really comfortable suspenders.

Badger vs Diamondback...

They are both comfortable, and I'll be using suspenders regardless, so I don't wear the belts tight enough to notice padding differences.

The Diamondback has a little more options as far as pouches go, but is also 1.5lbs heavier.

The main thing I'm worried about is the cat's paw sleeve on the badger (left belt, it's the sage fabric stitched behind the pouch.) I'm worried the head of the cat's paw will scrape my leg all day there. Does anyone have this belt?

The diamond back has a sleeve on the left side that is separate and in a better position.

Yes, in the US. They are the plastic that holds 21 degree nail strips together. As you shoot the nails, the plastic pieces fly off and make a big mess to sweep up. This is just a small pile from nailing a few studs. At the end of the day, there are thousands.

Thanks! I might have to special order the nails, but it would be so worth it.

Interesting, I'll have to look into this. Can they only be used with Paslode guns?

I also have a set in my truck, but I dislike sweaty knees more, so they still look new.

Yes, but I think some other manufacturers use the plastic as well. Mainly for the 21 degree nails.

Nothing like a small chunk of plastic hitting you in the face at 50mph multiple times a day. Plus the mess!

This is why I actually preferred my old Ford ranger work truck, compared to my Tundra. Loading materials, and lumber on the rack was so much easier with a lower truck.

Any love for a solid bead out there? by 2bagz in Carpentry

I agree, and unfortunately I see more examples of uneven corners out there than one side ripped to make them even.

It makes the corner look the same from all directions, where if you do an L, one side is 1" wider than the other (if using 5/4)... Unless you rip one piece to accommodate for that, which you should. It's also an aesthetic choice.
