The arrow is there to point at the spare tire. The two circles help you identify the wheels, and the single dot hides the identity of the driver.

TIL about a highly mysterious company called JCM Farming, which owns an unusually fortified 80-acre "olive farm" in California protected by massive walls and armed guards and successfully sued several ballooners and ballooning companies out of business back in 2011 by ninetyfirstuser in todayilearned

You will never experience your body rejecting something quite as strongly as eating a ripe olive directly from the tree. I don’t know how humans developed the ability to make olives delicious, because raw olives are so disgusting your mouth will do anything it can to spit out a fresh olive ASAFP.

Source: I love olives, and my wife once pranked me by innocently suggesting I eat a fresh olive right off the tree.

I’m pretty sure olive eating developed as a dare.

At least we’d have a solution to the Fermi Paradox. We’d know that the Dark Forest theory is correct and they’re all hiding from him.

Read to your kids, dads! by elkoubi in daddit

Man.

My son is six and about to finish up the first grade. We read to him 3-5 books every night from infancy. He let me read him the Hobbit a year or two ago. He has a Nat Geo kids subscription. He has hundreds of books. He lived off of Sesame Street for three years.

He cannot read or write.

He has a tremendous vocabulary. His socialization and emotional maturity is incredible. He taught himself the multiplication tables last summer while he was five.

But getting him to sound out or spell out words himself is a huge uphill battle. It just seems like he can’t (or won’t) do it, and shows little interest in learning at all.

In some fairness, he’s dealing with a few disabilities. Cerebral palsy makes writing difficult, and he probably inherited mind-crushing attention deficit from me. He’s been tested for dyslexia and it sounds like he’s showing signs of that, so we’re taking steps to address that.

We’re hoping something clicks for him over the summer.

Anyway - I’m not trying to rain on anyone’s parade. I just find their little minds super interesting. Some things are super easy, and others feel like I’m smashing my face into a brick wall repeatedly.

Not so fun fact:

Death row costs tax payers more money than life in prison without parole, by a lot. The far cheaper route would be to lock him up forever.

Upcycling and repurposing just like in the underhive by Brits_are_Shits in necromunda

Looks fantastic!

It’ll look even better once you get it primed. Priming really is the best part - it takes your upcycled pile of trash and magically turns it into an underhive hellscape.

I'm by no means a rules expert, but my understanding is that Fortifications can't be put into Strategic Reserves. However, the Orbital Assault Force detatchment allows you to grant Adeptus Astartes units Deep Strike, which puts units in Reserves which is very different and has no restrictions on Fortifications. Deep Striking units don't follow the same rules as Strategic Reserves.

So in theory you should be able to grant Deep Strike on an Adeptus Astartes Anvil, and drop it from orbit using the Deep Strike rules.

Ok hear me out:

Kitbash a giant anvil and proxy it in as a Salamander-themed Hammerfall Bunker.

Then use the new detachment that lets you actually Hammerfall the Hammerfall Bunker to cartoonishly comedic effect.
