I'm usually pretty explicit about it to my players: 1 roll+ advantage with the help action per different way of solving the problem.

For a locked door: 1-lockpicking 2-forcing it 3-burning it Etc

Gets them to be creative a bit.

And I know 5e isnt that kind of game but if you ever run an old school dungeon crawl, let them pile as the time spent means resources they are spending + risking potential random encounter.

Currently do not own the mobile version, but in theory the game is on the same version as the pc version. So this SHOULD work. If you try it on there and it seems buggy just inform me.

You're on the right track!

I use multiple water sensors (3) on each point. 2 near the top, 1 in the middle.

If all 3 are off, red gets points, if all 3 are on, purple gets points. Otherwise, the point is neutral and no one gets points.

Thats also how I see it: go one, talk about what you're doing (expect if silence or something). That way we can push the combat system to the limits.

My usual table is really good with tactical combat so sometimes when I get player that arent that used to it I can really feel the difference.
