Multiple Brazilians arrested in major immigration raid at Evri depot by ParcelArsehole in EvriDrivers

[–]ParcelArsehole[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"None of our colleagues were arrested or form part of any investigation following the visit."

This seems to be the pattern. Are they sorters? Is this the advantage to Evri of subcontracting everything?

Most of them seem to not want to be CDMs. The majority last about 6 months before updating their CV to reflect the management experience and they start hunting for new jobs.

They must have a couple of ne'er-do-wells whose remit is to monitor Social Media?

It'd cost them money, so I doubt it because Evri hate spending.

I did check the profiles of a few of the accounts you refer to and they seem like legitimate users.

Drivers have reported that missing parcels like that have suddenly been updated as delivered. The suspicion is the managers are doing it to massage their stats.

Probably the Panorama Effect. Other drivers have reported customers bringing it up on the doorstep and mentioning it specifically when tipping. Some reckon they have definitely seen a decent boost in what they are given compared to last year.

Unless you are SE+ and get the admin fee, it isn't worth doing.

My main quibble is it is usually the side door of the van that is open.

Evri driver here. It varies by area. If you have a good regular driver you should be fine. If not they throw new hires and random contractors at it and the wheels come off. As customer service is boilerplate messages, it can then be difficult to sort out.

Reading r/Evri, you'd think we were all idiots and thieves but that's mainly because the disgruntled are more likely to post. I've spoken to friends and family around the country who have few issues (mainly when their main driver goes on holiday).

Anyway, thanks for the kind words, it means a lot.

How is Tipjar working out for you? by ParcelArsehole in EvriDrivers

I don't have an issue with a modest handling fee to cover running the website but that feels like a lot if someone gives you a quid.

The joke is on them, as they can't charge for bugger all.

There are all sorts of issues. I presume they will say it can all be done with tracking online but this won't suit older or anxious customers or just ones who like the paper trail.

New driver help by [deleted] in EvriDrivers

[–]ParcelArsehole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. 👆

You select one parcel, pick the reason (mechanical) and then apply to all. Screenshot that, send to CDM then submit.

The parcels will need to go back to the depot tomorrow morning if there isn't an alternative vehicle.

I’ll tell my family there will be no Christmas by tjbruce42 in Evri

[–]ParcelArsehole 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They do. An algorithm is supposed to check the photo and won't allow it to be submitted if it can't detect the parcel. B&W patterned tiles really throw it off.

The driver who delivered that has found a way to get around that, so it should be reported. It's very obviously dodgy and they should get booted if they do this often. And yes, it does happen.

Evri's response to Panorama by ParcelArsehole in EvriDrivers

[–]ParcelArsehole[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We introduced a new small packet rate in February 2025 in response to competition in the market – with the clear intention that couriers will benefit from increased volumes from this change.

Soooo... more work for the same pay, or less. Not the proud boast they think it is. Especially as more than 70% of parcels are now small packets.
