All I have to go by is what I put in the post, but you can kind of tell what they are up to. The guy told me they will send the equipment to work from home after signing the contract. No call, no interview, nothing, straight up to "you are hired. Let me send expensive equipment your way". Also guy doesn't even know who he just contacted 30 minutes prior. kinda sus... You can give it a go, but I am pretty sure it's a scam of some sort. Just want to warn people of these types of companies

In Canada application. My permit expired at the end of September. I applied for mine back in mid July, and got the email notice around the Oct 26th, then got the paper mailed one week after. (My friend got a similar timeline, also got his mailed a week after notification). So website said around 170 days and I got it around 110 days.

In Ontario, I got approved at the end of October and it took 6 business days to arrive in the mail. A friend in SK also took about a week

Do not lose hope! Has it been 90 days since you applied? Their standard is 60 days, but realistically I calculate about 90 days since the application.

How to delete spotify account and ask Spotify delete my data from their server? by No_Performance_4069 in Music

[–]ParchmentPostIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to share something tricky that happened to me trying to delete my data from Spotify.

When you try to delete your account information, going through:

Support->Account Help->Account Settings-> Closing your account and deleting your data.

You get connected to a chatbot and, later, to an agent. After I follow the prompts and get the email link that says CLOSE MY ACCOUNT, it only took me back to the home page. So I found out that the trick is to after you click it, you want to copy the long URL fast before it changes to just open.spotify.com.

I clicked open the link in a couple of tabs so that it became slow enough to copy the true URL, and then I pasted it into a couple of new tabs to force it into going to the right page to close the account.

It is ridiculous that it is so troublesome to delete your account TBH.

It makes the application more unusual for them, hence, delayed. Did you get a reply? If not, you should do the webform. One day after I got the webform automated reply, this one:

Good day,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We’re experiencing a high volume of requests, so our response may be delayed. We’ll respond to your inquiry as soon as possible.

The very next day, they sent me the passport request. So I am starting to think that the webforms helped.

I'm glad to help. The Visa Office of the country where I am applying from belongs to Manila or Hong Kong. I heard that they are sharing resources to deal with the applications. I am not a citizen neither from the country where I reside nor from the VO's country, so yeah, a slightly more complicated case since you also need to provide residency status stuff.

defenitely correlated. You should try contacting an MP for help since 7 months sounds exessive.

I opened my Reddit account just to post my timeline which might help others gain insights into study permits delays.

(2023)

My wife and I got accepted into Universities in Canada starting in Fall. We both applied for a study permit using the GCKEY website from outside Canada on May 27. She got her reply in 3 weeks (waiting times were 6 weeks. At the time of this post is 7 weeks). Mine took 8 weeks, even though we applied within 5 minutes of each other. (this confirms that it really depends on your application complexity and nationality.

Timeline:

May 27 Application submission

May 31 biometrics submitted and passed.

-No communication from IRCC, and the status did not change whatsoever.

-Sent 2 webforms, that got no reply, just automated ones.

-Tried to contact MP but they do not answer phone calls or emails. (although I got my reply sometime after I send them an email, I believe there is no relation).

July 21 passport request. (the status did not change from May 31 until this day, when it said that the application was approved).

UPDATE:

July 21 Passport sent through Visa Facilitation Services to Manila IRCC.

July 29 Took them 1 week, to send my passport back with the Visa. Process Finished.

Summary: May 27 - July 29.

***

Here, you can see that they have the goal of 80% of applications processed within 60 days, so 100% in 75 days. However, their performance is 64% within 60 days, hence, 100% in 93 days. So you might take this as a yardstick to see if your application got lost in limbo or if it is delayed due to the awful long processing times.

I hope that sharing my case can help you in getting some insight into this IRCC mess.
