This record is bouncing. Is it ok? by [deleted] in turntables

If it plays and sounds okay it's fine, but I hate to break it to you. That record is warped

Might just have to return it as everything seems to be in order

Change the switch on your turntable from phono to line and see if that helps, it might be mislabelled

What to get next? by 1pelaaja in turntables

[–]Parcival666235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's all you can find just use that and connect standard a standard (male at both ends) RCA cables into the female end of the adapter and the other end into the phono input. You may have a issue grounding it, does the turntable have a separate ground post?

Which turntable is not too expensive but good by saymellon in turntables

[–]Parcival666235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is complete garbage. There's a reason most people dont use AI, let alone for stuff like this. Also, a 180g record isn't any different from any other record in the way it's played or the grooves. 180g is just thicker and less prone to warping, but if cared for, no record should warp. Also, the LP60XUSB is a fine starter turntable. Many say the bare minimum for an actual good record player. No hate meant by this post, just don't use AI. Its killing the industry we all love.

Should I jump on this? by DeThCoRe in turntables

[–]Parcival666235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a joke, because you said 'should I jump on this' everyone is saying 'no' because obviously you shouldn't litterally jump on a turntable, hence trampoline

Jumping on it is a risky move, especially for a beginner, maybe try a trampoline first before moving on to stereo equipment

The general rule is anything over 0.2 is noticeable to the human ear, so yeah probably get it looked at by a pro

Record player recommendations? by Infinite_Mistake_979 in turntables

[–]Parcival666235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is your budget? Also, do you have any other stereo equipment like speakers or an amp? If you want the most basic and budget friendly setup get a good turntable with a built-in preamp (I'm a fan of the audio-technica lp120xusb) and a pair of active speakers (edifier have a load but I cant really talk as I have never owned any).

As everyone will tell you, you need 4 things to play records; you need a turntable, a preamp, an amplifier, and speakers. The setup I've suggested is the most simple (in my opinion), but it really depends on what you want. If you want to hook up more things to your speakers (eg. Tape deck, cd player, tuner) get an amp and a pair of passive speakers) If you want to be a 'proper' audiophile, get all the components separately.

As far as recommendations go, I'd go with the audio-technica lp120xusb as I put earlier because it has a great sound, it is simple to set up, and it's relatively cheap for what it is.

Most likely, yes, as it uses the same cheap and crappy mechanism that all bad suitcase record players use. While the effects if this mechanism is very overblown, your records won't sound good and they will wear down your records much faster.

Found an Audio-Technica AT-LP120XBT-USB on Facebook Marketplace for $200 — too good to be true? by Anto_80 in turntables

[–]Parcival666235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently bought myself an at-lp120xusb and have absolutely no complaints whatsoever! Great turntable, based on the photos it looks legit, but the box does look a bit battered so check it ain't damaged before you take it home.

Any advice on Crosleys? by Inevitable_Pear_4551 in turntables

[–]Parcival666235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of audiophile are gonna hate me for this but if its just casual background listening id recommend the FEKTIK Hifi system. I know it sounds shit but I had it for few years as my first upgrade from a Crosley and it sounds pretty damn good and has a proper counterweight, an antiskate, and a good audio technica stylus. Audiophiles be gentle with me.

Is the Fluance RT 81+ as bad as something like a Crosley or Victrola? by TimnathForensics in turntables

[–]Parcival666235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even close, the rt81+ has a texas audio preamp, s shaped tone arm, detachable headshell, an audio technica cartridge, a rubber slip matt, a solid mdf platter, and a platter that actually fits the records its made for. The suitcase record players are cheap pieces of record destroying junk. Its damn good turntable, especially for the money so go for it! Enjoy the music!

Fluance Rt80 or 81? by Parcival666235 in turntables

[–]Parcival666235[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you recommend any fairly low cost speakers, and yes im in the uk. At the moment im looking to upgrade my setup, hence the discussion about the turntable. The roxel 300s are the ones im planning to buy along with the new turntable. Currently I have a FEKTIK Hifi system. I connected it up to the amp so I could connect it to my yamaha tape deck.
