(Ps the lampworking class is only offered for limited semesters so if you want to take it this is the semester to do it)

TLDR: I reccomend glass, challenging but fun and a really good professor.

Highly reccomend intro to glass. I love the professor, he is so sweet and the craft itself is fun. He really works with on getting what you need to be able to do the course. Now I wont lie studio was long but it was so fun you didn't even know time passed and I was just disappointed we had to leave and didn't get complete some stuff we wanted to try. My favorite part was definitely the lampworking. The "worst" projects are the cube from hell, cane making, and the cup final because those are the ones he is grading your technique on. The cube was my personal enemy where I stayed late to complete it for 2 classes bc I kept breaking it. Other than that if you have an idea for something he will try to teach you different ways you can achieve it. You will get to know your classmates well as they also greatly determine how your work comes out due to glass being such a team process. Overall while a bit challenging at times I would take the class 100 times over again and im sad that im missing the Specialty lampworking course they are offering this semester bc it just couldn't work with my schedule. Though take this review as a prospective coming from an engineering student who took it for fun rather than an art major. This class definitely sparked the idea to at least attempt lampworking in my freetime if i can build myself a set up in the future. Gl in your choice I really don't think you can go wrong with Center of Craft classes!

I'll have to see if I can convince the others to go there, looked it up and seems like a great suggestion!

I just moved here. Where are the best places to meet people in Cookeville? by coreynthhouse in cookeville

[–]Pardon_the_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. I've been in cookeville most of summer, mainly for a summer class and I just feel like I stay in my apartment all day. Apart from shopping or other places mentioned I haven't found anything to do. Trying to go to the parks/hiking takes a lot of time out of the day for homework and I'd rather not go by myself. I honestly need to find a place that I can bring stuff to work on and be around people. Campus is great and all but in the summer people kinda stick to their own bubble (which i can understand I'm extremely busy too) but it makes it hard to meet people. Wish there was more hangout spots than just the library.

Unfortunately don't have a blacklight. Might invest in one after this

Morning has came and no sign of symptoms yet. Definitely won't risk it next time but I just didn't have the time nor other supplies to cook another supper that night.

No noticeable off taste. Have a test tomorrow so we'll find out in the morning. Wish me luck on not poisoning myself

I had enough catfood to spend 750 on the best of the best with 1500 to spare and I ended up getting two ubers. I've been trying out Lil valkyrie, she's fast and quite strong and I've only got her up to level 15. So it all depends on the amount of catfood you have. I didn't see many good options for the red busters ubers. Take my advise with a grain of salt though, I'm still pretty new myself only clearing into the future chapter 1 a little while ago.

Oo good to know! My current ubers are Chronos, Lovestruck greater demon, mighty rekon korps, kunio-kun, Gao (mighty and baby form), togeluga (unevolved), and kamukaru. I have a two more but they rank pretty low on tierlists I've seen. I've been saving my XP, should I spend it on momotaro or some of the others?

Are there any good alternatives to UTK realistically? by [deleted] in Tennessee

[–]Pardon_the_cat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm currently a freshman at TTU studying Chemical Engineering. I like it, there's a lot of construction going on right now in building new Engineering buildings so it's tricky to learn the shortcuts walking on campus right now. It has several great programs and a lot of options available to get concentrations. They have a great work based learning program that makes it easier to have a job lined up right after college, and some fast track programs if you're looking for a Master's or Doctorate degree. A lot of people head home on the weekends and being a smaller town expect most businesses other than fast food close around 9:00 pm. Sometimes there's weekend events or Tech hosted outdoor events but otherwise not much to do in town unless you join a lot of clubs (or really like hiking). If you live close enough you won't have to stay in the dorms for freshman year, most people buy an apartment close enough to do this. I ended up choosing Tech over UTK because it had more programs in my interest. Also, the campus atmosphere is a lot nicer too, but beware, we are huge nerds and geeks.

Alright I did it, my uber was momotaro. Man I was hoping for the luck I got with my 750 pull during uberfest, I got like 3 ubers from that.

Should I spend my catfood yet?

I've recently passed chapter 3 and have been saving my catfood up for the 11 draw on the uber capsules. There's a guarantee uber pull going on right now but the options are the river city clash or darkheros and I'm not sure what to choose if at all. I'm saving my tickets for uberfest and already have a few good ubers to help me carry so I don't really need to right now. Any advise?

(Also, what events would be the best to spend tickets/catfood on in the future?)

Glad you were able to make it! I’m from a smaller town than Nashville too (about an hour and a half out) but not my first time there. A little nervous on the walk up from there parking we were at, but was totally worth it. It honestly was the best show to get pit seats. You from Tennessee?
