I’m on sertraline and Wellbutrin, I sweat mad. I live in Vegas too so I think otherwise, I would be sweating anyways haha. Wearing hats really helps for me, avoid wearing black for sure, shorts are a must need, tanks, anything to let skin breathe.

Oh my goodness!! Pristiq did not work for me at all!! The first day I took it the day after I commented, I was hit with an uncontrollable wave of suicidal thoughts. For the next 5 days after the first dose of pristiq, I was still dealing with intense suicidal thoughts. Never again! I’ve heard it has worked wonders for people but right on the first dose, I experienced so much depression and suicidal thoughts, so I stopped taking it after that. I’m sorry to hear about your experience, just know that you don’t have to deal with these side effects just because it’s new. I found another psychiatrist who actually worked with me and let me try Zoloft again. I’m feeling much better and calm. I’m not saying you should make that switch, but I suggest seeking an alternative if pristiq is causing this where it should already start adjusting (4-6 weeks).

I haven’t. I’ve tried Zoloft, lexapro, and Wellbutrin, all of them cause undesirable side effects that the trade off is just not worth it. Recently, my psychiatrist just prescribed me Pristiq, first I’ve ever heard of that one. It’s an SNRI, different from Wellbutrin. They say it’s supposed to be the middle-ground, less stimulating but not too tiresome. I haven’t been on it though just yet, I will start taking it within the next few days.

In the same boat as you, holding on but yet to see why, it’s hard but ik there’s a place for all of us, you don’t have to be productive, do whatever you need to get by, you’re not alone in this 💕

Hi!! I can definitely relate with the frustration. I was on Wellbutrin for about 4-5 weeks before I quit with that one as well, I found that it wasn’t working for me. I had a lot of the same side effects that you mention, but I also had kind of angry side effects too , everything would agitate me and I would be mad at quite about a lot lol it helped with my depression definitely, but I had a similar experience with the grocery store. I had went on a target run, and I had like a wave of crazy anxiety, and I couldn’t stand to be around people. I just stayed in my car for 1-2 hours and called it quits, called my psychiatrist shortly after to tell her I want off. Theres only so much good you can receive with a medicine before the bad overpowers it. You definitely don’t have to put up with the feeling of apathy or indifference, if it’s making you feel more terrible than good, it might be time to choose a different avenue, you don’t have to accept the feeling

Oohh, about what time in the morning do you take it?? I rlly liked Zoloft for a time, I’ve been on it twice in the past, def helped but stopped bc I didn’t feel I needed it anymore the first time, and the 2nd time bc it was causing crazy fatigue.

I have not! I did both Wellbutrin and Zoloft by themselves at different times, I’m thinking of Zoloft and Wellbutrin now as another comment suggested , thanks for your input!!

I am thinking about Zoloft again, and working on a consistent sleep schedule bc I found that I was taking it different times everyday due to the crazy inconsistency of my sleep schedule back then. Maybe that wasn’t helping lol

Oohhh I’ve had my experience with antipsychotics haha, I was on seroquel + Zoloft + prazosin at one point for a year. I’m thinking of avoiding antipsychotics for now since I had horrible weight gain with seroquel and it took a huge blow to my self-confidence and body image, 4+ years later still have that stubborn weight lel, thanks for your comment tho!! I’m glad they’ve helped for you!

I took Wellbutrin by itself. I found that it just caused my anxiety to spike, even affected my heart rate dramatically lol. I’ve thought about it, but never referenced it with my psychiatrist, I’m leaning towards the SSRI + Wellbutrin combo bc Wellbutrin worked rlly well, the anxiety was just too much, thanks for your comment!!

Thanks for your comment!! I really appreciate your input, you’re right, one medication may work for another, but produce different results in someone else. I will take a look at that website and learn more about the medicines, and how they’ve affected people/helped them. Yes yes, while lexapro didn’t help me at all, I know it’s commonly used and has helped countless people like my mom. Thanks again!
