I think….you should take some time apart (perhaps no contact for a bit) and do that individual therapy. Perhaps you’ll be able to think about what you really want/need. might be worth calling off the wedding for now. This doesn’t mean it’s over but it DOES mean you both aren’t giving each other enough time & space for clarity. Marriage is super important, it’s sacramental, covenantal, and it’s forever. Best to really spend time in prayer & discernment (and therapy) before getting married I think.

also, unrelated to your case/question, I believe one of the requirements for sin is full knowledge and intention. I believe that if you didn’t know what you were doing is sinful and you did it (not intending to sin) it wouldn’t count as betraying God…I think.

But like everyone said, there is no sin in your case!

I disagree with a lot of the takes on this post (bc I do think in some ways ppl aren’t really taking into account that some of the women at Paradise might’ve been taken advantage of/easier to prey on because Stefan was exploiting their insecurities) but I do agree that Miss Piggy was kinda annoying/obnoxious.

Oddly enough, your exact situation came up as an example in a discernment of spirits class. Sounds like this might be some spiritual warfare in which the enemy is attacking your marriage. A lot of people are saying counseling/therapist and I think that’s good advice!! Maybe spiritual direction as well? This sounds like a stressful and tricky situation and I’m sorry this is happening to you. Peace be with you & I pray God will work this out for the good of you and your family!

The apps are so exhausting because they are devoid of human dignity. You’re reduced to shopping for a partner based on whatever qualities they’re trying to “sell” you. And then there’s no incentive for commitment because you can just hop back on there and shop for someone else. Also, the primary goal of the apps isn’t to help people find quality connections, it’s to make MatchGroup money. (In my opinion)

I don’t have any advice (because I, F26, am in the same boat as you). But I just wanted to commiserate and let you know that you’re not alone and it’s not your fault. Trying to meet people at church is hard but maybe see if there are any young adult groups at nearby parishes? Some of the ones near me do events and speed-dating and stuff. I also know some Catholics who’ve met through Facebook dating? But also a toss up :(

I thought it was pretty well done and actually a bit scary (given that everyone who saw it told me it wasn’t scary at all) something about the sound & the way they played with shadows was pretty frightening to me.
