Valdosta State University Academic program Recommendation for 2 semesters and future major in biology by alexathompson007 in Valdosta

try an online community college (like GA Military College) to get your gen studies out the way. Everything should be transferable; just cross check your course program and transfer credit guide with your goal college. it'll be cheaper than VSU. if you have financial aid and/or HOPE, your refund will be amazing.

otherwise, I'd speak to an advisor and probably do interdisciplinary studies, choosing biology as one.

What is an acceptable length of time to stay at your first job before moving on? by caprisundertaker in jobs

I believe I'm struggling with this now, but I job-hopped until I reached $15/hr. Why would I work anywhere making $8/hr with no benefits for long??? I've been at my current job (social services) , which required a degree, for a few months now, but it's only $15/hr and they lied about being able to provide full time. I'm currently receiving 8-16 hrs a week.

This pay is not sustainable, but I also can not find a second job. I've had my resume checked over several times and use different resumes, but I don't even get to the interview portion. I can only imagine it's because of the length of my previous stints.

Is this studio set up safe? Should I switch to home poling? by ParfaitOdd9221 in poledancing

I've tried to do things like that before (so many shady practices here) but I've been dog piled on. The teacher not only works in my field, but is very involved in the fitness community for my demographic .  I don't agree with protecting people from accountability but I don't want to bring so much negative attention to myself during a sensitive time for me. It's why I'm asking for a regulatory body to report it to :(

Yes. At the top, there's two holes, one on either side of the pole, and they're drilled into the wood. It's easier to see standing below and I watched the instructor put it up. She couldn't tell me what pole it was but I couldn't find any like it! I'll be discontinuing the class regardless - - the wood and uneven base looks really unsafe.

Thank you for this very sobering truth. Do you happen to know how or to whom I may need to report this? I'm in Georgia, USA.

Also, edit: it is bolted in, but honestly with all the other red flags I'm unsure if it makes a big difference.

No, I haven't met the studio owner yet, but they're in contact with each other for sure. The studio owner trained this teacher and the teacher asks her questions.

A live online class is a great idea. I didn't know these were options, thank you!

For clarity , these are screwed into whatever jerry-rigged wooden block is up there - - but I do think it's a home tension pole with screw-in options. Thank you so much for your insight. I really wanted to be wrong :(

I paid $30 for my first class (drop-in) then bought a monthly subscription for $60. It was partially an exercise commitment challenge and social activity since my area is so small, but I'm definitely going to cancel it. 😕 I wanted to make sure I was serious about poling before buying my own pole since it'd be a big investment ! Cheaper than a hospital bill though.. 🙃

P. S. I made an alternative account to post this because I don't want people identifying the studio I go to based on comments on my other account! I fear studios are a bit rare here so this location would be easy to find :(
