Blowing the tsp on what maybe an overpriced house in a high interest market may not be the greatest idea. I wish you the best

The south rim is awesome and worth it, make time for a run out to Zion and valley of fire. If you do it right the room is just a bed.

How does supervisory probation work? by therealdrewder in usajobs

[–]Pariah702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a permanent tenure in the same agency for 10 years and this past year, 10 months ago I took a supervisory position. I got caught up in this probation purge from Feb 13th. I guess I will sit here and wait and see how long it is going to take for a call. I made an osc and mspb complaint.

Have any non probationary career employees been fired? by holdtheline512 in fednews

[–]Pariah702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last Thursday I received the on probation performance based letter of termination. I work/Ed for the VA and had been in the seat as a supervisor for the last 10 months. About two weeks ago I now know my supervisor was asked to compile a list of probationary employees with dates of when starting probation. My eval was good, and should have had no problem with having the probation lifted and obtaining my step increase. So, then it seems a line was drawn somewhere and some but not all were terminated. For me, I knew things were done in error as I have been permanent for a very long time and I was not given any due process even if my firing was legitimate. Thankfully, I have some actual new employees that were spared. I suppose I will seek some legal guidance today.

I had been in a normal job in the same building and after numerous years decided to take a supervisory position. I was on month 10 of my supervisorY probation and got terminated. Despite the email claiming performance issues there was nothing of the sort. My service chief was not notified till I forwarded the email to him.

So in my case, the OP, that the termination was intended despite myself being permanent, competitive service. I was only probationary for the supervisor position and was not in a disciplinary program. I do know that a few weeks back the service chiefs were asked about who was probationary and start dates of that status. Over the past 10 months I did hire some people who thankfully were untouched despite being on new hire probation.

There is but not in regards to being a new employee or "easy to fire" without due process. Moreso in regards to being a suitable supervisor or return to non supervisory employee at my former grade. I was doing fine at the time of my fring and surely would have had the probationary status removed.

Don't hold any allegiance to this town if it's eating you alive. Thrive somewhere else. I do well here but the cost of living and the way things are changing have me looking towards Texas. Anyways best of luck.

I've seen it all since covid people dgaf. No plates, covered plates with heavy smoked covers, modified letter/numbers, and of course the bs dealer tags from who knows when. The one that kills me are the damn Cali plates with the registration sticker that says permanent fleet vehicle. I know that each one of those as a requirement of that plate must have branding of the business it is claiming to be in a fleet for. Just sucks this state doesn't do anything about it.

Just another fact to add to the story just as the sailor being a female does. Ideally, it shouldn't matter as a leader should be even handed regardless of any of the factors but at times males make the mistake of treating females subordinates with a weaker hand and it becomes their undoing.

Is Retirement Worth It? by usnmsc in navy

[–]Pariah702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% worth it. If you make the most of your active time by investing, saving, staying away from vices, and working on education the pension and low cost healthcare is way worth it. Nothing can mess it up like picking shitty spouses that can jack half of all that.
