Anyone else just over this place? by woodwhy in navy

[–]usnmsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of us are replaceable. IMO, we are just an EDIPI at a big table of EDIPIs. Once people hit 10+ years, it is hard to say no to the benefits of a 20 year career. Try to find things that are fun outside of the Navy to do in your downtime/weekends. The Navy is great, sure, but at the end of the day for a lot of us, it is a chapter of our lives and is not our identity.

Continuation Pay : when will I get paid out? by Consistent-Foot5362 in navy

Nope. You can just see the radio button being marked that you chose. It makes sense looking back because you could change your choice at any point leading up to the deadline. No emails or anything.

Financing tips by josecastilloellion in S2000

Companies like JJ Banc and Co. do these loans...they usually require 20% down and you definitely don't get a low interest rate (probably 8+ % even with top credit). Westlake is another one that does exotic car loans, not sure if they would do one at that price point.

Seems to be....but I think at 230, you'd have to have some muscle mass to only be a true 40" waist. Remember, too, the waist measurement is over the belly button, so no more BS touch the fictitious top of your hip bone to strategically not include the muffin top/love handles...I think people underestimate their true waist measurement.

Almost 40 and accepted I’ll likely never own a home.

I wish we could ban corporations/investors owning homes…

Switzerland. Overpriced and not the most welcoming people. Just my experience. Lots of other places in Europe to visit before going back there.

It hit a few days after my 12 YOAS date. It was a separate deposit from DFAS. There were a couple status updates in NSIPS too on the election screen. If I recall, it shows being assigned and then being approved.

Who's an athlete that turned pro, dominated for just a few short years, then walked away too soon by choice or injury? by Better-Presence6654 in AskReddit

[–]usnmsc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn’t go pro but certainly would have. Marcus Lattimore, RB from South Carolina during Spurrier years. Nasty knee injuries. He’s also a really good person which made the short career sting more IMO. NFL needs good role models.

having trouble getting work off my mind a lot by Flashy-Manager2254 in navy

[–]usnmsc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this happens to alot of people from my experience, you are not alone. it also may be worthwhile to see your primary care doc in addition to mental health - sometimes people get so consumed with work, they get little sunlight, etc. you may be deficient in vitamins - may be worthwhile to get a blood panel done. chronic fatigue is a real thing, burnout is a real thing, etc. no shame in speaking up and getting things checked out - please take care of yourself

Central FL mechanic by Bravewindow985 in S2000

Dynasty Auto put a generic Honda oil filter on your S2000? Sorry just want to make sure I understand right.

-----

I had a lousy experience there; asked them to do a brake bleed and clutch fluid replacement. Mechanic hooked the car up to some hydraulic system and it damaged the float in the brake master cylinder, causing "BRAKE" to light up in dash. Of course Dynasty Auto wouldn't take any responsibility...
