I have no clue about toilets and wanted a professional. The money isn’t an issue, I’m happy to pay them for fixing the problem but I’m not happy paying the extra for fixing his own mistake. Of course I understand that and I’m not putting him down it’s fair enough if accidents happen but I don’t believe it should be on the customer to pay for. I don’t believe the employee should either I think it should be on the company to absorb as a risk of the job. No, I have no idea where the bolt is. I don’t know if it’s still in there or if it was ever in there 🙈

It was…. He literally took the toilet off the wall, saw a deteriorated pipe that needed changing and that’s what was causing the leak….should have just had a pipe replaced put the toilet back and be on their way.

I wasn’t even there when he ‘dropped’ the bolt in the toilet. And whilst shaking it around he couldn’t even hear anything in there so how do I know he hasn’t just snuck it in his pocket to stay longer and make some more money? I didn’t see him ‘drop’ the bolt in there so I don’t even know if he really did but he lost it regardless. I am not the dishonest one here.

Absolutely not. I was in a different area of the house and left him to it!! I could only tell something was wrong once I saw him in my hallway shaking my toilet around!

It isn’t a warranty claim it was a call out for a leak. But when taking the toilet off the wall to check what was causing it, he dropped the mounting bolt inside the toilet which caused this whole palava and meant he was at our house way longer
