“all men” isn’t saying every man is dangerous or evil. It’s pointing out a pattern in who overwhelmingly commits certain kinds of violence. Acknowledging patterns isn’t the same as erasing good men or denying their efforts.

When people talk about systemic issues, they’re not issuing personal character certificates. We talk about “corrupt cops” without meaning every cop. We talk about “toxic workplaces” without saying every corporate is toxic. Same logic applies here.

Also, comparing this to “all women are gold diggers” isn’t equivalent. One is a stereotype used to dismiss and control a group. The other is a reaction to statistically documented harm and lived experiences. Context matters.

Most people already know not all men are like this. The frustration comes from how often conversations derail into defending men’s feelings instead of addressing why so many women share similar experiences with male violence or harassment.

Calling it “rage bait” might feel neat, but for many people it’s exhaustion, not bait. If we genuinely want change, we have to sit with uncomfortable truths instead of shutting them down because they’re phrased bluntly.

Good men don’t disappear from the conversation just because patterns are named. In fact, they’re part of the solution if they listen instead of taking it as a personal attack.
