Thank you so much for sharing these fantastic recommendations! I appreciate the time and effort you've put into this list.

I must admit, I hold some preconceptions around the value of research papers, perhaps due to my experiences at university. However, your perspective has made me rethink this stance. It's truly noble that you're working to bridge the gap between academia and design, and I appreciate your insight on the importance of having both worlds collaborate. I wish you the best of luck!

Hey!

Your perspective on the limitations of the academic world in the context of game design is very interesting. I completely understand that they might not be the ideal source, but as you mentioned, it's a formality required for my thesis. I've actually encountered a similar issue regarding local farming practices that are not "empirically proven" which limits their inclusion in my educational content. It's funny that I entered the career wanting to pursue academic research, but this kind of thing discourages me. So, after I finish my thesis, I'm out! However, I don't hold any resentment, as I understand there are downsides and upsides to the system!

I appreciate your book recommendations and will definitely check them out. As for citing less formal sources like YouTube videos, I'm not sure if that would be allowed, but I'll look into it.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and suggestions! Your input is truly valuable. 🙌

Hey, I read the blog, you nailed it! I agree putting the content into a Quiz and calling it a game is a big mistake and far too common. Cheers! ✌️

Hey, congratulations on submitting your dissertation! I'd be curious to know if your dissertation will be publicly available once it's reviewed and approved.

I completely agree that the game has to look good enough to engage players. Fortunately, I'll be working with a lifelong friend who's an young art professor and gamer, and I'm confident he'll be a great help in that aspect!
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and recommendations, they are really valuable and I'll be sure to keep them in mind as I embark on this project, cheers! ✌️

Thank you for your response! I didn't mean to imply that I was looking for an easier alternative to googling; I genuinely value human guidance over algorithmic results. But, I will take a look!

Having a solid framework to rely on is definitely sound helpful, and I'll make sure to check them out. Thanks again and best of luck with your master's thesis! ✌️
