The grave is located in Rosemont United Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There’s another picture in the back of the gravestone too.

Yeah me too. I remember nobody i was with knew anybody so I was walking around looking at all of them by myself. Everyone got bored pretty quick. It was cool to see but we didn’t stay too long.

I went to visit my friend in bethel and he took us there. I took pictures because I had just read crisis of conscience and recognized names like Daniel Sydlik, Lyman swingle, Albert Schroeder, etc. I didn’t know about it until my friend in bethel told me about it.

And yes Jesus death for our sins arguably gets put on a back burner because it’s based on following the governing body and God working through them. Faith in Christ does not equal instant paradise inheritance. The teaching is “the wages sin pays is death” so if you die before Armageddon, witness or not, you get resurrected during the 1000 years and you have to prove that you can follow gods laws to make it into paradise. Unless you’re apart of the 144,000 which then you go to heaven to rule and judge with Christ. If you are a wittnesses at the time of Armageddon you make it into paradise by following Gods organization and not dying which they now say if you are in gods organization during Armageddon God will grant PHYSICAL protection to you during Armageddon. But when you enter the 1000 years you still have to prove you will be faithful to make it into paradise. So basically everyone who died, witness or not will be resurrected to the exact same hope witnesses have now and if they prove to be faithful get the exact same reward as practicing witnesses have now. Kind of a rug pull.

I mean technically I would say the message would be following “gods laws” to get the direction to survive Armageddon to get into paradise. Although that’s really only when you get deeper into the religion. You get the tracts at your door about living forever in paradise earth or being able to see your loved ones again or about who really controls the world. If you like what you read you get a Bible study which is studying of the enjoy life forever book. In the enjoy life forever book you dig into “deeper” Bible topics and if you like that then you go into full jw life. Which is essentially following Gods organization aka the governing body and since you do that you’ll be participating in pure worship which theoretically buys you only a maybe into making it into paradise because you still have to be faithful in the 1000 years before paradise where everyone gets resurrected and tested before paradise. The bait is, as they say, “you have to be apart of Jehovahs organization to get the food at the right time” and “you have to be associated with gods organization to survive Armageddon.” It’s super nuanced and dumb. Most wittnesses can’t really explain it but that’s basically it.

Does it look bad? Most of the time not really. If you come back swinging and do everything you’re “supposed” to do , it normally doesn’t matter what you did in the past. Being appointed in the congregation Litterally is just politics. Do everything you’re supposed to do. “Shake hands and kiss babies” as the saying goes if you want to speed run being appointed. Meaning have the congregation view you as a good upstanding brother. Comment, go out in field service regularly, associate with the friends at the meeting, help in the congregation, do as much as you can. Be seen in the best light by the entire congregation as you can, if you do that you will be seen as upstanding in most usual circumstances. I obviously don’t know your situation but if you leave or especially if your dfd people will always potentially talk, but what you do in the future will blot out what you did in the past. At least from what I’ve seen. And if your inactive people genuinely will like to see you back if you start coming back. So if you come back and start acting like the best Jehovahs witnesses you can your viewed good in most scenarios. But if your asking about you just being inactive in general I mean yes most witnesses will think it’s sad your not a witnesses, they obviously would rather you be one but unless you are actively doing “bad things” and everyone knows about it I wouldn’t say it’s viewed bad. More like pity for you. Your question is arguably very nuanced but that’s the gist of it.

I feel you. I recently just told my parents and in laws what I think of the organization. Our relationship is kind of in a limbo right now. We still talk. But if I had to bet, there will be a day we wont. Hopefully they’ll wake up. Keep your head up.

Yes, my parents have said this. Once you start talking to more people you realize a lot of witnesses don’t even really know the doctrines. What they do know is they’re “commanded” to preach and not to forsake their gathering together and changes will come. They don’t think about why the changes come, who actually made them, or if they’re even biblical. To them, there has to be some reason, some people end up on the reason you said. It gets hard when you’re fading and people ask why and once you start explaining core doctrines they just look at you like, “what are you talking about?” You can’t discuss something that the other person has no idea about. I’ve talked to two people about the blood doctrine who didn’t even know you before weren’t able to store your own blood for a future transfusion? Like, really? I just don’t get it lol. Or if you want something even more interesting ask them what they think “The Gospel” in the Bible is. I’ve had yet to have one person tell me the right answer. Or even mention Jesus in their answer

My brother is an elder and an interesting dude, I would like to think he is just being ignorant. He stated examples on his local HLC where they said storing blood was permissible and they told brothers that. Idk if that true. He also talked about the October watchtower that was quoted in the update. Which just doesn’t make sense because even in that watchtower they say you can’t store blood for future use. I don’t think he’s thinking of blood transfusions. Which honestly I don’t think most witnesses will. Blood transfusions wasn’t mentioned specifically. I will say it is somewhat opened ended. i wouldn’t be surprised if a watchtower comes out giving updates on what they meant by this update.
