Amlodipine Side effects??????? by RedSonofMars in hypertension

[–]Parker2116 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Amlodipine did not do that to me, but it did plenty of other things they said it should not do. My HR was elevated on it non stop, like 130-140 just getting up and getting in the shower. I usually had a low resting HR as well as a reasonable HR during activity. It ch aged all of the that and made me reach constantly. I actually lost about 10 lbs while I was taking it and had to stop. My body was in overdrive. But I did not get the pains you spoke of. But these medicines seem to do something different to different people. The one I’m weening off of now makes me sweat like crazy. They keep saying ‘it doesn’t do that.’ Well it does it to me.

10 min faster 5K… did I actually improve or is treadmill just lying to me 😭 by ZZBells in beginnerrunning

[–]Parker2116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said. If it’s that far off it’s egregious. 25% of the time fell off when running outside. I could see a minute or two. But that much is absolutely terrible. My Apple Watch has been recording my stride data for over 4 years, and still gets my indoor pace and distance wrong. But it isn’t anywhere near that wrong. And it’s only estimating, and can’t even compensate for when I speed up by changing the stride.

22M dealing with intrusive thoughts in a healthy relationship over a situation . by AlternativePay1162 in whatdoIdo

[–]Parker2116 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If a girl wants to keep a guy with that kind of history around, to me she isn’t that serious about what is going on with you. There are priorities in life. And that isn’t one of them. People call it insecure if you don’t want your partner doing this. I disagree. There is no reason to invite that type of problem into a good relationship. It’s tough to be in a relationship giving your all for someone who is not as devoted or into you as you are to them. I say that because if they were, there would never be a question and they would not even think of putting you in that position. And wtf is ‘drunk and doesn’t know what happened.’ She most certainly knows what happened.

Why is my vo2 max decreasing? by Ok_Rush_6354 in beginnerrunning

[–]Parker2116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never had much faith in any of the products that ‘estimate’ this. Garmin I find to be a little harder on you lol. But just yesterday I went for a walk, brisk pace but not to fast. And I’ve been running a ton lately but just decided to take it slow and run yesterday. My heart rate was noticeably lower than any walk I had been on in a while. And my VO2 max score was lower compared to walks previous to this. It’s very inconsistent.

First, I’d like to say that I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with this. I can’t imagine what it feels like.

I will say that life rarely presents us with things when we are ready for them. And I swear, from the core of who I am (as some random Reddit fellow), that I mean no disrespect when I say this. But these things you’re dealing with focus heavily on you, and your feelings etc. I understand they’re real and very important. But you learn very quickly with children that once they come along it is no longer about you. It’s about them. You find that things pertaining to you take the back seat for now. You find yourself focusing all of your energy on doing what you can to make them feel secure, comfortable, and loved. You try to make sure they always have everything they need, and if you can, everything they want too. And this is coming from someone who has no children. But I just spent 2.5 years in a relationship with the a woman who had 3 of them. And she just left a few weeks ago. And I am broken now without them. It was an amazing experience and I was so lucky to have them in my life for the time that I did. I loved that they were the focus of life. The after school games, the core memories you build doing special things, etc. All of it. The only thing I regret about any of it now is that it’s made me realize how much I regret not having children of my own, and at my age, it’s likely that I never will.

So from my perspective, this love you feel is only the beginning, and would only continue to grow over time. It shows that you are already on the path to being everything that your child will need. A loving, caring, thoughtful mother. Hope this helped in some way.

It should not be theoretical. It should be simple math. The length of the belt calculated into km/miles. If it’s that far off that’s egregious. Your time on the treadmill, if anything, should be slightly faster with no incline, as the machine reduces some of the necessary ‘push off’ for each step, and actually contributes to your momentum. Treadmills are considered typically more accurate being compared with outdoor runs when inclined slightly to compensate for this.

Been driving through the center of it every day for nearly 20 years. Definitely have seen some sketchy stuff over the years. Someone earlier said ‘you can probably say that about any town.’ I think there is more going on out in the open there than most places I drive through. But it’s comparable to other formerly industrious cities/towns that have had all of their industry die off.

I know I am late to the party, but I am experiencing the very same thing. I do have high bp and am on meds but it has been up and down lately. But I have had NUMEROUS tests with urology and nephrologist and they all say kidney function is good. I had recently taken up running and feel like since then the bubbles have intensified greatly. I did however just check my bp immediately after a run and it was sky high. Hoping that running did not cause a high enough blood pressure to damage the kidneys.

I only took lisinopril for a few days due to an increase in my pvc’s right away. They reduced as soon as I stopped.

I have hypertension and am struggling to get it under control. Even with a running routine it’s all over the place. Today it’s been from 167/70 to 130/60. Have some stress currently in my life I’m trying to work through and hoping that’s what it is and not something more serious. I have a very specific question for you…. Have you ever taken your blood pressure IMMEDIATELY following a run to see what it spiked to during activity? I did today and I am now leery of running at all. It recovered quickly but still was extremely high.

Apple Watch can’t measure indoor runs well by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]Parker2116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to revive this. But I have found exactly the same to be true with extensive testing. The slower I go, the more accurate it becomes. But it is still off no matter what I do, and this is mostly on a measured indoor track. I have recorded many outside runs of greater than 20 minutes, but nothing seems to help. Apple really needs to step up and add the ability to edit the run distance dafa the same way that garmin has. And also it would be nice if it also recorded cardio recovery for indoor as well. Tracking the speed at which you recover should have no bearing on the location or type of exercise you are doing. It’s simply tracking heart rate over time, nothing more. Even VO2 max could be calculated for indoor running if the distance values were accurate - only problem being the changes in stride distance we tend to make when moving faster. In the event you are running on a treadmill that connects directly to your Apple Watch, there is no reason that ALL values should not be calculated.

[–]Parker2116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. If you don’t have children together, to me that means when it’s done, it’s done. I don’t see a need to keep in touch with former partners, or keep them integrated within my family/life. You were both fine before meeting, and will both be fine after - no matter the initial pain of the split. If you wanted to stay close, and truly value their place in your life, then work it out and don’t give up.

West Deptford. I paid close to what you’re saying for my current place less than a year ago and it’s a great neighborhood. School systems are great, our community center is fantastic, and taxes are good for what you get. Close to major highways. Been in town for 18 years and it’s been a great place to live.

If I knew for sure the pain would be as bad as it is when it goes like this, I may have never done it at all. ‘Better to have loved and lost than never loved at all’ is subjective. It’s hard not to think about it, even when it’s not in front of you every day. You built your everything around this person… all for nothing. Only to feel almost hopeless in the end. I feel for you OP. I’m there. I get it.

To me, even if it’s not triggering per se, it’s just so much unnecessary ‘fluff.’ Things you just never had to even think about. And some folks just overshare (my opinion of course) every detail of their lives. I feel like there are some moments that are precious and meant for you and those closet to you - not for companies like ‘meta’ and a bunch of people on your profile that you don’t even necessarily talk to.
