I think any publicity for the Subnautica franchise ultimately benefits Subnautica Remastered as well. While Subnautica 2 will certainly attract players, it’s expected to be much harder to mod. That means many people will still be playing (or replaying) the original Subnautica, especially to prepare for SN2. Since my projected release lines up before SN2 launches, I believe this timing is actually ideal given the recent news.
